Synopsis[]

Summary[]
Taking place during Chapter 91, Franky and a disguised Loid observe Melinda Desmond's exchange with the city hall workers at the charity bazaar, watching from the former's stand. Franky gets the impression that Melinda is not doing any political work for her husband by not appealing to anyone, but Loid says there are many connections that can be made at the event. Franky changes the topic to Yor's connections, admitting to being scared after seeing her go to the Lady Patriots Society. Remembering Yor's words to the ladies about growing up during the war, Loid becomes silent and heads off to continue shadowing Melinda. Before he does, he briefly takes a look at Franky's "convenient goods" that will be sold at the charity. Loid is unimpressed by the inventions and calls them junk as he leaves, offending Franky.
A while later, Franky encounters Yor and her co-workers, who happen to be passing by. Franky tells the ladies that he is a seller at the event every year and shows them his goods, which they also call junk. Franky adds that he also develops supplies for the wounded soldiers, surprising the ladies as he shows them a prosthetic leg. Millie asks Franky if he was in the war, which he confirms and says he was forced to go. While Franky is relieved that he came home from the war in one piece (not admitting that he ran away in the middle of it), he laments that other people are still suffering from it. Franky still wonders why he was left alive, thinking about the normal people he fought alongside who lost their lives and how he got to go home and leave them all behind.
Franky quickly snaps back to his cheerful demeanor and tries to sell the ladies an instant hair dryer he invented. To everyone's surprise, Millie decides to buy it. An overjoyed Franky tries to ask her out but is quickly rejected. Later, a sad Millie arrives at work with an afro, explaining that her bathroom door and window got blown off when she tried to use the hair dryer, and Camilla comments how her hair looks like Franky's.
