Summary[]
One morning at Cecile Hall's boy's dormitory, Damian and his friends watch a news report discussing developments on the space race between Ostania and Westalis, with Ostania's side gaining a significant budget increase. Ewen is excited about the news, but Damian comments that Ostania's developments are being rushed since they appear to be losing to the West, then hopes that their rocket does not explode. On the other hand, Emile is simply disinterested in space travel. Ewen is upset by his friends' lack of appreciation for the romance of space exploration, but they are called by their classmates to head to class.
Common craving for space adventures
In their classroom, the boys see Anya playing with a paper rocket in front of them, which Becky explains that the recent space news has excited her sense of adventure. Ewen is happy to have found someone with similar interests and eagerly tells Anya about the paper rocket she made, impressing her with his knowledge. Damian fidgets with jealousy as he watches the two get along while Becky looks at him with amusement. He tries to join the conversation by promising to make space travel accessible when he becomes a politician, but Anya and Ewen are too loud to hear him as they play as astronauts. Watching Damian's plight, Becky tells him to speak up if he wants to be heard by Anya.
