The Secret Police Arc is the fourth story arc in SPY x FAMILY.

WISE and Twilight's greatest enemy, the Secret Police of Ostania, begins making waves near the Forger Family. At the same time, Yor's brother finds out about her marriage and plans to visit the family.

Yor's Brother[]

At Eden Academy, Anya confidently attempts to answer a math question but completely fails. During a meeting, Handler asks Loid if Anya can get eight Stellas within four months, something Twilight is visibly unconfident in. Handler adds that one of their informants from city hall has been arrested by counter-intelligence and urges Twilight to tread carefully.

At Berlint City Hall, Millie tells Yor and Sharon about the arrest of Jim Hayward from the finance department, who was rumored to have been selling documents. Camilla arrives and asks Yor about not telling her little brother, Yuri, about her marriage, which Loid had backdated to a year. Yor, realizing it completely slipped past her mind, begins to worry. Her co-workers then ask about Yuri and learn about his attachment to her, which Yor seems to be oblivious to.

Elsewhere, Jim is being interrogated by the State Security Service at their headquarters about the documents and the person he sold them to. Second Lieutenant Yuri Briar arrives to take over the interrogation. Yuri politely asks Jim to give up the information they need so he can visit Yor sooner, revealing incriminating photos of Jim selling the files to make him talk. Jim tells all he knows, and Yuri begins asking him about "Twilight," the great threat to the East. Jim tries to reason with Yuri when his marital affairs are exposed, aggravating Yuri as he starts torturing Jim while proclaiming his dedication to his sister and country.

Yor returns home to inform Loid about Yuri's upcoming visit, prompting Loid to use his "Lovey-Dovey Marriage Kit" to stimulate a happily married couple's home. After Anya falls asleep while waiting for Yuri to arrive, Yuri makes his way to their home later than expected, having gotten caught up in the interrogation. Yuri is suspicious about the marriage and declares to protect his sister from harm, while Loid hopes to ensure that Yuri does not see through their fake marriage.^[2]

Yuri's Home Visit[]

Yuri arrives at the Forger's home and is immediately greeted by Loid and Yor. While Loid heads to the kitchen to make them some food, the Briar siblings sit down and catch up. Yuri gets to the point and questions Yor why she did not tell him about their marriage for a year, to which Yor answers that she forgot. Yuri decides to accept that but begins barraging Loid with questions about how he and Yor got together. Loid manages to evade the questions due to Yuri's overreactions and drinking, and he stuns the young man by professing his "love" for Yor.

During their conversation, Loid deduces that Yuri is a member of the Secret Police and observes that Yor is unaware of this fact, and so he schemes to take advantage of it. However, Yuri's suspicions grow further after seeing Loid and Yor's flustered reaction after accidentally touching hands, and he drunkenly demands that the two kiss as proof of their love, threatening to annul their marriage if they cannot. Loid accepts, but Yor is unprepared for her first kiss and starts panicking.^[3]

Yor downs a wine bottle to get intoxicated and pushes Loid down to kiss him. Watching this unfold, Yuri flashes back to when he told Yor he wanted to marry her, with Yor responding that she would wait for him until he grew up. Yuri begins having second thoughts about his demands and jumps in to stop them, but gets caught in a slap by an embarrassed Yor. As the Briar siblings drunkenly stagger around and hold each other up, Loid helps them and promises to Yuri that he will help support Yor. Yuri decides to back down but remains suspicious of Loid and the marriage. After Loid and Yor clean up the house and head off to bed, Loid wonders to himself when was the last time he felt envious of others when seeing Yor and Yuri's bond, but quickly brushes those thoughts aside.^[4]

Aftermath[]

Yor is glad she married Loid — "I'm really glad I married you, Loid."

In the morning, Loid begins to suspect that Yor is connected to the SSS through Yuri, while Yor is dejected about her performance as a wife from last night. Before leaving for school, Anya tells her parents to get along, aware of their thoughts. To make sure his assumptions are false, Loid plants a listening device on her, despite his initial hesitance to it. Loid then shadows Yor at her workplace and listens to her conversations. Looking to get an answer from her directly, Loid disguises himself and Franky as SSS officers and confront Yor, but her genuine reactions clear Loid's suspicions, and he feels guilty for doubting her. Loid approaches Yor after her work and reassures her, telling her to be herself in her role as the Forger mother. Yor is happy to hear this and expresses her appreciation for marrying Loid, startling the spy. The couple return home with a cake for their fake one-year anniversary, and Anya is happy to see that the two have made up.^[1]
