Anya and Becky's Surprise Mission![]
During Anya and the others' way to school in the morning, Becky cannot stop hiccupping. When Damian, Emile, and Ewen tease her with the superstition that she will die if she hiccups 100 times, Anya believes them. In order to stop her best friend from dying from hiccups, Anya tries her best to stop Becky's hiccups.
Summary[]
On her way to class at Eden Academy, Anya greets Becky, who is suffering from uncontrollable hiccups. Damian, Emile, and Ewen overhear Becky and start teasing her. After trading a few insults, they mention a rumor that if someone hiccups 100 times, they will die. Taking the rumor seriously, Anya becomes worried for Becky, who has already hiccupped around 20 times. Becky tries to reassure Anya that it will not happen, but her persistent coughs only make Anya more anxious.
Later, while their class is on cleaning duty, Becky is still hiccupping, and Anya has lost count of how many times she has hiccupped. Desperate not to lose her best friend, Anya grows frustrated and stresses over how Loid would have come up with a solution already. Overwhelmed, she runs off in distress.
Meanwhile, Damian's friends try to convince him to have lunch at their dorm after cleaning instead of studying in class. As they talk, Damian notices Anya walking by with a sad expression. Concerned, he follows her and finds her crying over Becky's situation. Feeling bad, Damian tells Anya about an old saying that hiccups can be cured by a sudden surprise. Anya brightens up at Damian's advice and help, which embarrasses him as he scrambles to justify his concern. Anya starts thinking of ideas to surprise Becky, and Damian suggests saying something shocking, adding that it can even be a lie. Grateful for his help, Anya thanks Damian, and they look for Becky together.
Anya reunites with Becky and lies that she hates peanuts, only to be dismayed when Becky barely reacts. Anya quickly consults Damian again, who tells her to say something surprising about something Becky cares about. Remembering Becky's crush on Loid, Anya lies that he secretly spends his days off wearing nothing but underpants. The lie shocks Becky so much that her hiccups immediately stop. Anya happily celebrates and explains that she planned to surprise Becky so she would not die, which Becky is touched by. Anya adds that Damian helped with her plan, but is surprised when he is nowhere to be seen. Damian has returned to his friends, who have just finished cleaning up. They notice Damian's good mood and ask if something good happened, but he denies them in embarrassment as they head back to their dorm.
