The SPY x FAMILY x Puyopuyo!! Quest Collaboration was a collaboration between SPY x FAMILY and the Japanese video game Puyopuyo!! Quest (ぷよぷよ!!クエスト). It offered themed gameplay and collection cards based around the characters of SPY x FAMILY.

It ran from August 28 to September 17, 2024.

Description[]

The collaboration was announced on August 16, 2024. To commemorate the collaboration decision, several online campaigns with in-game rewards were held. On August 24, 2024, there was a special broadcast that gave further details about the collaboration.

The collaboration was held from August 28 to September 17, 2024. However, a commemorative login bonus for players was available until the end of September 18, 2024.

Gameplay[]

Story[]

During the collaboration period, "Urgent Mission! Puyo Battle" (「緊急任務！ぷよしょーぶ」, Kinkyū ninmu! Puyo sho-bu^?), a special story campaign featuring SPY x FAMILY characters who appeared in the game, was released and made available until the end of the collaboration.

Urgent Mission! Puyo Battle[]

Anya wakes up in an unfamiliar school. Sitting next to her are her classmates from Eden Academy, Becky and Damian, as well as other students who are skilled at handling the mysterious creatures called Puyos. Meanwhile, Loid and Yor wake up in a different place. Loid quickly realizes that this is a dream, but for some reason, he is unable to wake up from it. As part of her interclass game, Anya will be playing "Puyo Battle." Loid decides to join the class to support her while also looking for a way to wake up. However, the Puyo-user students seem to be troubled by various issues... will the Forger family be able to wake up from their dream?

Leader Skill: Codename <Twilight>

For all cards, Attack increases to 5.2× and HP to 3.5×, and Puyo Left to Skill -3 for every 4 Red Puyos popped in normal attacks only. Boost all colors (any 3) → plus colors at the end of own turn if there are Green Puyos on the field.

Skill: Shadowless Hero

For 1 turn, activate Special Rule (Trace transforms into Green Puyo) and chaining coefficient of all cards increases to 8×. Other skills cannot be activated after this skill until turn ends.

Full Power Skill

For 1 turn, activate Special Rule (Trace transforms into Green Puyo) and chaining coefficient of all cards increases to 10.5×. Other skills cannot be activated after this skill until turn ends.

Anya Forger (Casual Wear Ver.)[]

Note: The following information is when the character is [★7].

Leader Skill: Daughter of the Forger Family Attack of all cards increases to 4.5× and HP to 3.5×, and Puyo Left to Skill of all cards -4 when Yellow Puyo is popped in normal attacks only. Adds 1 to trace capacity. Skill: Telepathy Transform all Puyo colors (any 2) → into all chance Puyo colors, and Attack of this card and adjacent cards increases to 9× for 2 turns (Attack Up 2).

Yor Forger[]

Leader Skill: Codename <Thorn Princess>

For all cards, Attack increases to 5.2× and HP to 3.5×, and Puyo Left to Skill -3 for every 4 Green Puyos popped in normal attacks only. Boost all Next Puyo colors (any 3) → all Plus Next Puyo colors at the end of own turn if there are Red Puyos on the field.

Skill: For Whom the Mission Stands

For 2 turns, all Next Puyos become Red Next Puyo, and this card gains 21× attacking values from popping Red and Green Puyos respectively in only normal attacks (Red Amplification, Green Amplification). Attack of all enemies decreases by 90% for 2 turns (Attack Down 2).

Full Power Skill

For 2 turns, all Next Puyos become Red Next Puyo, and this card gains 25× attacking values from popping Red and Green Puyos respectively in only normal attacks (Red Amplification, Green Amplification). Attack of all enemies decreases by 99% for 2 turns (Attack Down 2).

Bond Forger[]

Leader Skill: Watchdog of the Forger Family

Attack of all cards increases to 4.5× and HP to 3.5×. Damage taken of all cards decreases by 20%, and transform all Next Puyo colors (any 2) → all Next Chance Puyo colors when clearing 8+ puyos at the same time with any 1+ chain.

Skill: Precognition

Damage taken by all enemies increases to 4.5× for 2 turns (Damage Taken Up). Transform all Puyo colors (any 4) → all Plus Puyo colors for 2 turns.

Damian Desmond[]

Leader Skill: Second Son of the Desmond Family Attack of purple cards increases to 3.5× and HP to 3.2×, and create 3 Purple Next Puyo then boost 3 Purple Next Puyo → Purple Plus Next Puyo when clearing 8+ puyos at the same time. Skill: Desmond-style Rolling Sweep All cards deal single colored attack with (no. of Purple Puyos on the field ×5)× Attack of self and resets the field.

Leader Skill: Plan B: The Friendship Scheme Attack and HP of all cards increases to 3×, and transform all Puyo colors (any 3) → all Plus Puyo colors at the end of enemy turn. Skill: Star Catcher Arrow Damage dealt by all cards increases to 3.5× for 2 turns (Damage Dealt Up). Repaint all Puyo colors (at most 5) → all Plus Puyo colors in the field.

Skill: I Don't Intend to Lose Either Puyo Left to Skill of red cards -3 at the end of own turn for 3 turns (Skill Fast-forward 3). Adds 5 to trace capacity with 5× same-time coefficient for 3 turns.

Removes Attack Down and Recovery Down status from all cards, and Attack of all cards increases to 3.5× when attacking with 2+ colors at the same time for 2 turns (Conditional Attack Up 2)

Leader Skill: Student of Wisdom and Seals Attack of purple cards and HP Type cards increases to 3.5× and HP to 3×, and Puyo Left to Skill of purple cards and HP Type cards -3 when Purple Puyo is popped in normal attacks only. Skill: A Wise Mission Damage after being cut by all color shields increases to 3.5× for 2 turns (capped by original damage before cut) (All Shield colors Weaken 2)

Paprisu[]

This ★5 character has no skills or specials, nor can it be transformed. It could be acquired through the "Peanut Collection Festival" and was also available in all colors (red, blue, green, yellow, purple).

Special Events[]

For the collaboration, there were limited-time events that players could play during the event period.

Peanut Collection Festival[]

During the event period, there was a special event where players must collect the collectible "Peanuts" item to obtain prizes such as "Wilde Stones," which could be used to transform "[★6] Anya Forger" into a "★7." Players could also receive the "[★5] Director Chimera Paprisu."

There was also the "TV Anime SPY x FAMILY Collaboration Commemorative Campaign" from August 28 to September 5, 2024. In it, players could receive in-game items based on the total number of "Peanuts" collected during the Peanut Collection Festival, with the maximum number of collected "Peanuts" being 15 billion. On September 6, 2024, it was announced that a total of 31,899,535,991 "Peanuts" were collected by players.^[1]

SPY x FAMILY Challenge[]

From September 10 to September 17, 2024, players could participate in a special challenge where they must defeat a Challenge Boss using the "Summoning Tome." The challenge was also available in co-op. After defeating bosses, players earned "Challenge Points," which they could use in the "Challenge Point Gacha" to get rewards such as "[★6] Possessed Klug (Eden Academy Ver.)" and "Colorful Sir Wilde (60)."

Promotion[]

SNS Campaign[]

To commemorate the collaboration decision, from August 16 to August 25, 2024, players could participate in a special campaign. By reposting a specific post from the official Puyopuyo!! Quest Twitter account, players could earn in-game items and rewards based on the number of reposts the post received.

There was also a lottery where players could get the chance to win "Magic Stones" (an in-game currency) by following the official Puyopuyo!! Quest and SPY x FAMILY anime accounts on Twitter. One person had the chance of winning 100 Magic Stones, while three could win 50.

Commemorative Login Bonus[]

To commemorate the special live broadcast, from August 17 to September 18, 2024, there was a commemorative login bonus for players, where they received a total of 50 Magic Stones.

Special Broadcast[]

ぷよクエ『SPY×FAMILY』コラボ情報特別配信(2024.8.24)

On August 24, 2024, there was a special live broadcast that revealed many details about the collaboration. The special guests who appeared on the broadcast were Kenichirō Matsuda (Bond), Natsumi Fujiwara (Damian), and Emiri Katō (Becky).

Shortly before the broadcast began, the official Puyopuyo!! Quest Twitter account released a special post that called for viewers to comment and react on it with a special hashtag until the end of the program for a chance to be 1 of 10 lucky winners to receive 50 Magic Stones.^[2]

Character Reward Campaigns[]

From August 24 to August 27, 2024, players could participate in a commemorative campaign by following the official Puyopuyo!! Quest and SPY x FAMILY anime accounts on Twitter and reposting a target post. The reward of the campaign was a "[★6] Loid Forger" that was gifted to 1 lucky player.

Daily Campaigns[]

From August 28 to September 1, 2024, players could participate in daily campaigns with the same instructions as the previous campaign for a chance to be the 1 lucky player to receive the character of that day.

From August 28 to September 1, 2024, 1,000 participants had the opportunity to win up to ¥10,000 worth of Eraberu Pay. Also, 5 people received a set of 12 acrylic stands of the in-game characters.
