The SPY x FAMILY x Japanese Red Cross Society Collaboration was a collaboration effort between SPY x FAMILY and the relief organization Japanese Red Cross Society (日本赤十字社). It offered themed gifts based around SPY x FAMILY.

Description[]

In 1877, the society was founded by Count Sano Tsunetami, as the Philanthropic Society, during the battles of the Southwestern Rebellion. It changed its name to the "Japanese Red Cross Society" and was recognised as such by the International Committee of the Red Cross on September 2, 1887.

A new Red Cross law came into effect on August 14, 1952. The Tokyo Blood Bank was established and blood program operations began. The society was given legal status as a special non-profit corporation. Sometimes the organization is called the "Japanese Red Cross" (or simply "Red Cross" inside the country) and by the abbreviations "JRC" and "JRCS."

It is the only organization in the country collecting and supplying blood for use in transfusions. The affiliate of the International Red Cross is located in Tokyo and supports a nationwide network of chapters throughout all 47 prefectures. Today, in order to spread a better understanding of blood donation and thus increase the number of donors especially among the younger generation, the JRCS works to implement various measures (including advertising campaigns, collaborations, etc.).

On September 12, 2023, in collaboration with SPY x FAMILY, donor registration was organized through the special web service "Love Blood" (ラブラッド, Raburaddo?). The participant could choose the date and place of donation, but the distribution occurred depending on the needs of medical facilities in a particular blood type (group) and rhesus (Rh) factor.

Gifts[]

At the selected blood station, donors showed a screen with the "SPY x FAMILY Hope" notification about receiving a gift. In different designated periods, the first 30,000 donors received 1 special item for 1 donation.

  • The original postcard with a changing pattern was available from September 12 to November 10, 2023.
  • The original towel handkerchief was available from November 14 to December 31, 2023.
