SPY x FAMILY ANIME EXTRA MISSION was a special event for the SPY x FAMILY anime. It featured a live stage where many of the cast members gathered to host readings of original stories, live dubbing, behind-the-scenes stories from recordings, and a variety corner.
The event was first announced on December 19, 2023[1], and was held at Musashino Forest Sports Plaza, Tokyo, on June 9, 2024.
Description[]
The event had many of the cast members, including the Forger family, gathering on the stage. There were readings of original stories, live dubbing, behind-the-scenes stories from recordings, and a variety corner.

※ Atsumi Tanezaki did not physically appear at the event due to poor health.[2] As such, the event was held with some changes to the production and structure, as Tanezaki appeared via pre-recorded audio. Visitors who wished to attend to see Tanezaki had the option to refund their tickets from June 3 to June 24, 2024.[3]
Priority ticket sales ran from December 20, 2023, to February 25, 2024. A general advance lottery ticket reception for the event ran from March 18 to April 29, 2024. The seats that could be purchased at this reception were in three categories: SS, S, and A. General ticket sales began on May 17, 2024, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Visitors who purchased SS seats were gifted an ANIME EXTRA MISSION special pamphlet. The pamphlet has 20 pages that include special information, including interviews with the eight cast members and the script for the event's original reading plays:

At the end of the event, an announcement for the production decision of the anime's third season was made. The event could be watched via online video streaming until June 16, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. JST. Ticket sales for the streaming of the event were available from May 31 to June 16, 2024, at 6:59 p.m. JST.
Reading Plays[]
At the event, there were live reading plays of original stories voiced by the cast. The scripts are written by Aya Yajima (the author of SPY x FAMILY: Family Portrait and the SPY x FAMILY CODE: White Novelization) and supervised by Tatsuya Endo.
Mission 1[]
Under the Sacred Apple Tree (聖なるリンゴの木の下で, Seinaru Ringo no Konoshitade?)
Anya wants to become friends with Damian and hears a certain rumor from Becky...
Plot:
Becky watches an episode of Berlint in Love and wants to support what she believes is Anya's "love" like the dramatic relationships depicted in the show. Although she is discouraged by the fact that Anya and Damian are almost never on good terms and constantly argue, Becky recalls a rumor she once heard from a student in another class.
The next day at Eden Academy, Becky instructs Anya to arrange a meeting with Damian under the apple tree at the end of the courtyard. She explains the rumor to Anya: a girl who frequently fought with a boy she liked supposedly invited him to that very tree, where an "angel of love" was said to reside, and the two later began dating. Though confused by the story, Anya agrees to go along with the plan, hoping that befriending Damian will help advance Plan B. Together, the girls devise a plan to separate Damian from his friends so he can meet Anya alone.
When Damian arrives, he impatiently asks why Anya called him over, insisting that he is busy. Unable to come up with a convincing explanation, Anya awkwardly suggests that they simply remain under the tree. Already aware of the rumor, Damian becomes flustered and suspicious, trying to decipher Anya's intentions. Meanwhile, Anya grows increasingly distressed by the overwhelming noise of Damian's thoughts but forces herself to endure it for the sake of befriending him. Watching from the bushes, Becky decides to step back and let the "angel of love" take care of the rest. Before Damian can say anything further, a caterpillar suddenly falls onto him, sending him into a panic. As more caterpillars drop from the tree, Damian realizes it is infested and, despite Anya's attempts to stop him, flees in terror after she herself is soon covered in caterpillars on her head and shoulders.
The narrator later clarifies that the apple tree is entirely ordinary and simply happens to be home to numerous caterpillars. The incident that inspired the rumor involved a girl who, startled by a caterpillar, accidentally hugged her crush, leading to their relationship. Becky is left disappointed by the failure of her plan as Anya chases after the frightened Damian, who frantically shouts at her to remove the caterpillars before coming any closer.
Mission 2[]
Regaining Lost Memories (失われた記憶を取り戻せ, Ushinawareta Kioku o Torimodose?)
Anya goes shopping with Yor, but an unexpected problem occurs. Yuri shows up and...?
Plot:
After watching an episode of Spy Wars, Anya sees a commercial for caffeine-free ginger rooibos tea. Hoping to buy it for Loid, she accompanies Yor on a shopping trip. On the way to the store, they stop to watch a street magic performance, and Anya becomes so absorbed in the show that she forgets what she wanted to buy, which concerns Yor. At the store, the pair run into Yuri, who had been shopping nearby and sensed Yor's presence. Yor explains their situation, astonishing Yuri and leading to a brief, childish exchange of insults between him and Anya. After Yor calms them down, Yuri agrees to help Anya recover her memory for his sister's sake.
Anya suddenly recalls that the item was meant for Loid but abruptly stops herself from saying his name. Yuri notices and immediately grows suspicious, internally resolving not to help if the purchase is for Loid. Reading his thoughts, Anya instead says that she remembers it was "not chocolate." Exasperated, Yuri initially decides to leave but relents when Yor asks him to stay. Through repeated questioning, Yuri manages to get Anya to recall the phrase, "If only I had this," and eventually deduces that the item came from a television commercial. To identify it, he contacts the SSS, justifying the misuse of authority as being for Yor's benefit before rushing off.
Ten minutes later, Yor and Anya locate and purchase the ginger rooibos tea. Yuri soon returns, claiming he consulted an acquaintance who tracks television commercials. Seeing the tea, Yuri assumes Anya bought it for Yor, deeply moving both Briar siblings, especially Yuri. After finishing their shopping, Yor and Anya part ways with him, while Yuri enthusiastically waves goodbye to Yor for an extended time. Yor suggests giving the ginger rooibos tea to Loid, believing it will help lift his spirits, and she and Anya agree to drink it as well. Later, Yuri reflects on the day with satisfaction, happy that he was able to help Yor and see her smile. He then declares victory over Loid with a manic laugh.
Mission 3[]
The Female Spy Dreams (女スパイは夢を見る, Onna Supai wa Yume o Miru?)
WISE's agent Nightfall. When she goes to report on her mission, she runs into her admired senior Twilight!?
Plot:
Loid is at WISE Safe House G after completing five extra missions, one of which required immediate attention. Severely sleep-deprived, he reflects on whether anything can be done to address WISE's ongoing personnel shortage. As he prepares to leave, he encounters Fiona, who has just arrived to report to Sylvia regarding an urgent assignment. The two briefly discuss Loid's recent operation, which involved intelligence about a bomb disguised as a cream puff allegedly being developed by Ostanian terrorists. Loid explains that further investigation revealed the report to be an exaggeration, stemming from misinformation about politicians playing a game of Russian roulette using cream puffs.
Fiona closely observes Loid's exhausted state and, in her mind, finds it endearing. She privately concludes that Yor's perceived inadequacy as a wife is contributing to Loid's fatigue and imagines herself as a far more capable partner. In her fantasy, Fiona replaces Yor, efficiently handles Loid's excess workload, and turns Anya into a reliable source of Stella Stars. The daydream escalates into an imagined future in which Loid proposes a wedding trip, buys matching rings, and confesses his love to her, leaving Fiona elated.
In reality, Loid notices Fiona's sudden silence and, unsure of its cause, prepares to depart, mentioning that he plans to stop by the mall to do some shopping. Fiona immediately becomes excited, assuming he intends to buy an engagement ring, and eagerly offers to accompany him. Loid declines, explaining that it would be inappropriate to involve a female colleague in selecting gifts for his family and that he wishes to avoid any suspicion of infidelity. He further explains that his recent string of missions has left Yor handling most of the household responsibilities alone, and he wants to prevent any potential strain on their relationship in order to maintain Operation Strix. To that end, he plans to buy Yor a popular apple-flavored omelet he remembers her wanting to try.
After clarifying his intentions, Loid takes his leave, reminding Fiona to get some rest as well. Once he is gone, Fiona breaks down in private, reaffirming her resolve to never give up and to someday prove herself worthy of her beloved senior.
Mission 4[]
The Sweet Trap (甘い罠, Amai Wana?)
Anya sneaks out in the middle of the night while trying to avoid Loid's attention. However, she finds herself in a difficult situation the next day...
Plot:
Before bedtime, Anya begins craving cookies, but Loid stops her, reminding her that she has already brushed her teeth and warning that eating sweets at night can cause cavities. He tells her she can have some the next day before heading to his room. Reading his thoughts, Anya realizes that Loid will be leaving on a spy mission that night and decides to sneak a cookie while he is away.
The following morning, Anya wakes up well rested. With no school that day, she happily plans to watch cartoons and snack, but suddenly feels pain in one of her molars. Fearing that she has developed a cavity from eating cookies the night before, she grows anxious. When she greets her parents, Loid immediately notices her uneasy demeanor and asks if she is feeling unwell, which Anya quickly denies. Loid leaves soon after to file a mission report, telling the family that he will be stopping by the hospital. After he departs, Yor and Anya eat the breakfast he prepared, while Anya worries about being scolded for disobeying him.
Attempting to learn more, Anya asks Yor about dental care, claiming that a classmate has a cavity and asking what treatment involves. Yor admits she is unfamiliar with the topic but vaguely describes decayed teeth being drilled or pulled out with tools such as pliers. Horrified, Anya becomes visibly shaken, prompting Yor to assume she may be worried about her own teeth and advise her to brush properly.
As the day progresses, Anya realizes she will not be able to hide her condition from Loid's perceptive eye and becomes increasingly afraid that her tooth will be treated as Yor described. She then notices Bond chewing on a toy, which Yor explains is an invention by Franky meant to help prevent dogs from getting cavities. When Anya tries to take the toy, Bond runs off to protect it. Yor interprets Anya's interest as concern for dental hygiene and is impressed, privately thinking that if Anya truly had a cavity, she would remove it herself before Anya felt any pain. Anya hears this thought and panics, claiming she needs to study before fleeing to her room.
Soon after, Loid returns home and finds it unusual that Anya is studying on her day off. Yor also remarks on Anya's strange behavior and poor appetite, leading Loid to suspect she is upset about something. Hoping to resolve the issue for the sake of Operation Strix, he recalls Anya asking for cookies the previous night and decides to bake some. After preparing a batch with peanuts, he offers them to Anya, who reluctantly eats one before admitting that her tooth hurts.
As Loid puts the situation together, Anya tearfully confesses that she ate a cookie after brushing her teeth the night before. Terrified that her tooth will be drilled or pulled out, she braces herself, but when Loid examines her mouth, he determines that she only has a mouth ulcer. Relieved, Anya calms down, though Loid cautions her that irregular habits and poor oral hygiene can lead to stomatitis. When he asks whether she brushed her teeth after sneaking the cookie, Anya admits she did not. Loid then patiently teaches her how to brush properly. Bored by the lesson, Anya asks if she can have cavity-preventing chew toys like Bond's, only for Loid to remind her that those are meant for dogs.
