Overview[]
After the National Unity Party lost power and Donovan Desmond was removed from his post of prime minister, Melinda stopped engaging in politics and began to lead a closed lifestyle. She and four of her friends, each of whom appeared to be wives of important figures in Ostania, joined with other women in the Lady Patriots Society, which allowed them to casually socialize with one another. Melinda also became its current chairwoman of the group.
There appears to be a different section of the group in Ostania, as Melinda and her friends in Berlint regularly played against the "Northside Team" in their volleyball games. In addition to being Ostanian elites, it seems that some women are mothers of children who study at or have graduated from Eden Academy. Melinda never invited strangers to their get-togethers, and Yor Forger became an unexpected exception after she took an interest in her.[1]
The group also participates in city events, one of them being the charity bazaar for disabled veterans. They come to the event every year, working with the Wounded Veterans Association in support of their country's soldiers.
The Lady Patriots Society appears to have a poor reputation with other women outside of their group, with Camilla calling them "busybody old shrews." There also appear to be rumors of the group reporting people who get on their bad side to the SSS. Some of these claims are not baseless, as there are some members who look down on those younger than them, speaking to them with sharp tongues and some even attempting to use physical violence. These actions do not appear to reflect in Melinda, who actively discourages these actions.[2]
