Lady Patriots Society

The Lady Patriots Society (愛国婦人会(あいこくふじんかい), Aikoku Fujin-kai^?) is a women's group in Berlint, Ostania, and which Melinda Desmond and her small, exclusive social circle are a part of. She knew most of its members even before she became the First Lady of Ostania. They partake in all sorts of community activities, from playing all-mothers sports games to helping organize city events.

After the National Unity Party lost power and Donovan Desmond resigned from his post of prime minister near the end of the Second East-West War of Unification, Melinda stopped engaging in politics and began to lead a closed lifestyle. She and four of her friends, each of whom appeared to be wives of important figures in Ostania, joined with other women in the Lady Patriots Society, which allowed them to casually socialize with one another. At some point, Melinda became the group's current chairwoman.

There appears to be a different section of the group in Ostania, as Melinda and her friends in Berlint regularly played against the "Northside Team" in their volleyball games. In addition to being Ostanian elites, it seems that some women are mothers of children who study at or have graduated from Eden Academy. Melinda has never invited strangers to their get-togethers, with Yor Forger becoming an unexpected exception after Melinda takes an interest in her.^[1]

The group also participates in annual city events by helping organize them, like the charity bazaar for disabled veterans^[2] and the Winter Sheep Festival^[3]. In the case of the charity bazaar, the group works alongside the Wounded Veterans Association in support of the country's veterans.

The members of the Lady Patriots Society appear to have a poor reputation with other women outside of their group, with some like Camilla calling them "busybody old shrews." There also appear to be rumors of the group reporting people who get on their bad side to the SSS. Some of these claims are not baseless, as there are some members who look down on the younger generation, speaking to them with sharp tongues and some even attempting to use physical violence. These actions do not appear to reflect in Melinda, who actively discourages these actions.^[2]
