Eden offers a top-class education in every field, from academics to sports to the fine arts. The students who manage to distinguish themselves among even their fellow elites join the school's honor program as so-called Imperial Scholars.

The Imperial Scholars (皇帝の学徒(インペリアル・スカラー), Inperiaru Sukarā?) are a group of students that stand above as the elites of Eden Academy.

Overview[]

The Imperial Scholars are symbols of Eden Academy's reputation for over five centuries.[2] They are the elite of the elite—having members that display high levels of intelligence, remarkable talents, or are shown to be a great influence on society.

Membership[]

To become an Imperial Scholar, a student must earn eight Stella Stars via outstanding grades, showing exceptional talents (sports, arts, etc.), or services to society. Due to these requirements, only a small handful of students become Imperial Scholars each year, and no student in the lower grades ever achieves it.[3]

Some of the perks that come with being an Imperial Scholar include access to elite social circles, a private dining hall in the cafeteria, the Imperial Room[4], a private lounge, and admittance to the Imperial Scholars mixer. Imperial Scholars are also allowed to invite their parents to their private social gatherings.

Uniform and Cape[]

All the Imperial Scholars that have been shown are in their middle and high school years and wear the appropriate standard uniform of Eden Academy. They all, without exception, wear a black cape with a dark red lining over the uniform and a gold cord holding it together at the chest. These special capes serve as a distinctive symbol of the Imperial Scholars' elite status and set them apart from other students.

Pastry of Knowledge[]

Eden Academy students vying for the Pastry of Knowledge

The Pastry of Knowledge is a dessert that is considered one of the seven wonders of Eden Academy. It is supposedly created by a pâtissier who appears at the school cafeteria unannounced and prepares a limited amount of pastries. The type of desserts can change each visit, as when Anya and her classmates tried to get some, it was the "Pierre Pommier Macaron Set." It is rumored that several students who have eaten the pastry have gone on to become Imperial Scholars, leading to the belief that those who eat it will instantly become smarter and therefore make it easier to become an Imperial Scholar. As such, the pastries are greatly sought after by the students.[5]
