WILL THEY PASS OR FAIL? (MISSION: 5 合否の行方, MISSION: 5 Gōhi no Yukue?) is the fifth episode of the SPY x FAMILY TV anime series and the fifth episode of the first cour.[1]
Synopsis[]
The day that Eden College would announce the applicants that successfully got into the school had finally arrived, but Anya's number is not listed. The Forgers fall into the depths of despair but are greeted by Henderson. He praises them for their interview and tells them that Anya is at the top of the waiting list. Three days later, they find out that Anya got into the school! Franky comes over to celebrate with the Forgers and they all agree to reward Anya for working so hard. What Anya asks for...[1]

The Forgers' depressed look after failing to enter Eden
At WISE HQ, Twilight's chief is informed by his secretary that the admission results for Eden Academy will be announced today. However, the chief is not worried as he knows Twilight is the best spy and will soon contact them to say he got in. Meanwhile, on their way to check the results, Loid and his family run into a series of "bad luck" events. Getting on the admission board results, they are unable to find Anya's name, to their shock.
Realizing they failed, the depressed Forgers decide to head home. Henry Henderson approaches them and shows them the confidential waiting list of successful applicants, with Anya at the top. Henry explains that if one of the successful applicants decides to withdraw, Anya will get into the school. Loid is surprised, considering what they did, but Henry states that the mosquitoes are the number one human killers, and Loid saving Murdoch Swan from it boosted their points. Yor realizes that if no one withdraws, Anya will not get into the school. For a moment, she imagines killing an applicant's father so Anya can get in but decides not to, as she must not kill an innocent person. Henry tells the Forgers to wait for a call as usually, few applicants withdraw each year. However, he explains that due to his actions against Murdoch, he may not be a teacher for long. Loid wonders who will be more useful between Henry and Murdoch but is ready to destroy Murdoch if he stands in his way.
Anya's prayer dance to get accepted in Eden
Three days later, the Forgers are still waiting for a call. As the phone rings, Loid rushes to it and picks it up. When he hangs up, he informs Yor and Anya that Anya is in, making everyone happy. A few moments later, Franky, who already knows what happened, arrives and brings wine for them to celebrate. While they celebrate, a drunk Franky slips that he sold Loid the test answers, but being drunk, Yor does not hear them. Franky tells Anya that Loid will buy her anything she wants as a reward. Anya states she does not want anything but wishes to do something. Anya shows a Spy Wars scene and asks Loid to save her from a castle. Loid refuses, but Franky explains that the castle from the show has been remodeled as a theme park and is rentable. Franky then persuades Loid to reward Anya, and Loid ends up accepting. Loid then contacts WISE, informing them that he got into Eden. He also requests a plane, and believing it is an emergency situation, they immediately send him one. The Forgers and Franky then get on the plane and head toward the castle.
WISE agents arrive to liven the castle
At the castle, Anya and Franky are excited and run around, but soon Anya stops, saying that without enemies or servants, it is not fun. Franky agrees with her and tells Loid to step up. Loid then contacts his agency again and requests as many agents as they can send. WISE then calls all agents in Ostania for an emergency over the SS rank mission at Newton Castle. As the agents arrive, they get excited to see the famous Twilight. Loid then thanks them for coming and helping out but secretly gives them a Morse code message that this is a mission related to Operation Strix. Franky and Anya then explain that Anya will be the princess, while Loid will play "Loidman," a spy that came to save her, and Franky will play "Count Scruffy Head," the big bad. Franky tells the agents that they are his subordinates, and they must do everything they can and want to get in Loidman's way.
Loid dresses as Bondman
As the play starts, Franky "kidnaps" Anya and tells Loid that he must answer the quiz that Anya made, and if he does not answer correctly, he will have to put on a Bondman costume. Franky then asks what Anya likes about Bondman. Loid guesses his face, but Anya reveals it is because he has a pistol with a silencer. Loid gets the second question right, saying that Anya's favorite food is peanuts. For the final question, Franky asks what Anya wants right now. After thinking it over, Loid says it is Bondman's spy gear, but Anya explains she is thirsty and wants some water. Because he got two of the three questions wrong, Loid is forced to put on the costume.
A drunk Yor as "Yorticia"
Proceeding, Loid enters a room with large balls and agents, and Franky explains that he needs to pass through them. Loid skillfully gets through the arena and reaches a tower, but to reach the top, he must defeat more agents who have guns shooting balls. Loid manages to take some guns and proceeds to shoot his way up the tower. From there, he ziplines to a room where Franky has Anya, who asks Loidman to save her. As more agents gather, Loid feels embarrassed having to play along, but for the mission's success, he decides to do it and asks Franky to hand over the princess. Franky then introduces the most powerful witch in the world, "Yorticia," played by Yor. The drunk Yor declares that she will not let Anya be kidnapped and starts attacking Loid, giving him a hard time, but ends up breaking her shoe heel and falls asleep on the ground. Loid then faces Franky as the final boss but beats him with ease.
Loid congratulates Anya on passing
Loid tells Anya that he came to save her, which makes her happy. The agents share the sentiment and activate fireworks as everyone congratulates Anya for getting into the school. After everyone leaves, Anya stays with Loid watching the night sky and tells him that she had so much fun after leaving the orphanage, and it is all thanks to Loid, and she promises to do her best at school. Loid smiles at her and congratulates her for passing the exam. The next day, WISE receives an invoice for the event's expenses for a shocking amount.

- The redacted Twilight profile seen on a screen in this episode is the same profile at the end of Volume 1.
- Yor's imaginary scenario of killing the father of a student as Thorn Princess so Anya would enter Eden is changed for the anime. While in the manga, she attacks "Zachry Feiss" in a crowded room and kills multiple people before stabbing him, in the anime, the scene takes place in an office, with only Feiss and Thorn Princess.
- Loid's training that lets him drink as much as he wants without getting drunk is not mentioned or discussed.
- After WISE orders all agents in Ostania to report to the castle, about 59 agents are present, more than the agents shown in the manga.
- Both Loid and Anya look at the sky while sitting on a fountain after the party while in the manga, they look at the sky while standing on a balcony.

- Anya wears a tiara during the castle sequence for her princess roleplay, something she does not have in the manga.
- The castle sequence of this chapter is heavily expanded for the anime. A scene of getting to the castle by plane was added, and there is a completely new sequence of "Loidman" saving Princess Anya and facing off against the rest of the WISE agents before an expanded fight against a drunk Yor.
