Loid fires at the German shepherd, shooting off the strap holding its bomb. The dog pounces on Loid and pushes him to the ground, prompting Keith to detonate the bomb. However, Loid had already thrown the bomb into the river behind him, leaving him unharmed by the explosion. Loid pulls the German shepherd up and throws it into the dumpster next to him. Keith is surprised by all this and sees that the man in the distance is not Minister Brantz. Keith realizes his plan is in trouble and attempts to escape.

Nearby, Yor frantically looks around for Anya, who has once again run off on her own. While crossing a footbridge, she spots Keith driving away and jumps onto the road in front of him. Keith tries to go forward, but Yor kicks his car off the road, causing him to crash and fall unconscious. She calls the police about finding the terrorist in an accident and resumes her search for Anya afterward.

Back at Kemono Park, the pet shop run by WISE, Loid, Sylvia, and the other two WISE agents discuss all that went down that day. Sylvia states that they will let the Ostanian government handle cleaning up all the mess. One agent asks if that includes giving them the dogs, but Sylvia says they will keep them until further orders. Afterward, Loid takes his leave, telling them that he needs to get back to his family. However, outside the shop, he runs into Anya, the white dog, and Yor. Anya and Yor make excuses to Loid about why they were not at the adoption fair before Loid asks about the dog.

Yor explains their side of the story, shocking Loid, who realizes they got caught in the terrorist crisis and apologizes for being stuck in the restroom. Loid yells at Anya for running off, then confirms her safety, and Anya tells him the dog protected her. Loid recognizes the dog as a Project Apple test subject and cannot let him run free, so he looks over to Sylvia, who acknowledges this. After Loid thanks the dog for protecting Anya, Sylvia and another WISE agent disguised as SSS agents approach the family for questioning. After the family answers the questions, Sylvia says they will need to take the dog because of its connection to the terrorists. However, Anya refuses the idea, telling them that the only dog she wants is the dog. Loid attempts to convince her to pick another dog, but Anya is too attached to the dog after he saved her life. She tells them that if she cannot keep him, she will never go to school again, shocking Loid and Sylvia.

Sylvia relents, shocking Loid even more. Yor asks if that would be okay, and Sylvia tells her they will sort things out. Loid tries to change Sylvia's mind, but she is set on the idea as she does not want to endanger Operation Strix. Anya asks Sylvia if they will treat the other dogs well, and Sylvia assures her that they will. After talking about Anya with Loid, Sylvia mentions having had a daughter around the same age and smiles, relieved that peace won the day. She tells the family that they will take the dog overnight to have him examined for any health issues and will bring him to their home tomorrow if there are no other issues. Walking back home, Yor and Anya proudly think about how they saved the day while Loid just painfully sighs about narrowly saving it.

In the morning, Anya anxiously moves around the apartment, waiting for the dog to arrive. She hears a buzz from the door before a WISE agent brings him into the room. Anya excitedly welcomes the dog to his new home while Loid and Yor smile at him. the dog remembers his past life in Project Apple, where he was experimented on and abused by the scientists. Anya and Yor wonder if he is okay and tell him that he is now part of the Forger family. He excitedly barks at this, and Anya gives him a big hug.

The next morning, Anya learns she will not be getting a Stella Star for helping to stop the terrorists, as Loid says they must keep it a secret for the sake of East-West relations. Anya decides to continue with the plan of befriending Damian. She plans to tell him she got a dog in the hopes that he will invite her to his house to compare their dogs.

Becky hopes that her and Anya's dogs can play together

In class, Anya tells Becky about getting a dog, and Becky invites her to a playdate. Hearing this, Anya believes her plan will work and dashes into the hall to find Damian. She tells him that she got a dog, but Damian is indifferent to that information. Anya, feeling the world is doomed because her plan failed, drops to her knees in despair. Emile and Ewen praise him for being able to easily take her down, but Damian is confused. Deciding to indulge her, a bashful Damian asks for her dog's name. Anya enthusiastically gets up from her knees but realizes she has not given him one yet. She says the dog's name is "Dog," and Damian leaves, telling her she is unfit to own a pet. At lunch, Anya struggles to find a name for her dog, and Becky tells her to let her parents handle it.

Anya arrives home and gets trampled by her excited dog, who is happy to see her. Loid suggests taking him for a walk, and Yor mentions a dog park by the library. On their way to the park, Anya wants to walk the dog, but Loid tells her to wait until she is older, so the dog does not end up walking her. Loid explains to her that a dog needs constant discipline and that she has a responsibility to care for him for his whole life. He also gives Anya tips on naming their dog, which Yor mishears and imagines herself talking to the dog about the causes of death.

When they arrive at the park, Anya enthusiastically wants to play fetch with the dog. She throws her shoe in the hopes that he will go after it but ends up doing it herself. She wonders if it is because he does not have a name yet, so she goes around the park asking dog owners about their dogs' names for inspiration. While watching Anya play, Loid thinks back to his lecture and realizes he is not one to talk about such things, as once he completes his mission, he will abandon the family and let WISE handle them. He reminds himself that the "peace" between East and West is thin, using the recent crisis as an example. He tells himself that he needs to end this cold war, believing it to be the best possible future.

After Loid tells Anya it is time to go home, Anya realizes her favorite gloves are missing. The dog sniffs for the gloves and finds them in a bulldog's mouth. Anya tries to get the gloves back, but the bulldog growls at her, seeing them as his possession. The dog intimidates the bulldog into dropping the gloves, allowing him to pick them up and return them to Anya. Anya imagines a similar scene from Spy Wars where Bondman recovers Princess Honey's stomach warmer from the League of Evil, making her realize the perfect dog name.

Anya and Bond fall asleep

When they get home, Anya wraps a bowtie around the dog's neck and introduces her parents to "Bond." The whole family, including Bond, approves the name. Anya gets out Bond's food and pours it into a bowl for him. While he eats, she sneaks a bite but realizes it does not taste that good. She notices Bond fidgeting, so she takes him to his "toilet," where he uses the litter box to poop. The two then head to the TV to watch Spy Wars. While they play, Loid tells her to be ready to study once he is out of the bath. After his bath, Yor eagerly beckons him to look around the corner, to which he sees Anya and Bond curled against each other on the floor while fast asleep. Charmed at the sight of it, Loid and Yor agree to give Anya a pass from studying for the night.

Anime Notes[]

  • After Anya threatens to Loid and Sylvia that she would quit school if they don't let her keep Bond, she starts crying, whereas in the manga, she doesn't.
  • The imaginary scene of Yor and Bond is told differently from the manga. In the manga, Loid says "dogs prefer plosives" and Yor mishears it as "dogs prefer explosives", and the following scene shows her and Bond talking about using C-4 for her assassin job. For the anime's subtitles and dub, a more literal translation of the original Japanese text is used: Loid says that dogs "can't tell consonants apart" and Yor mishears that dogs "can't tell causes of death apart," and the following scene shows as such with Yor and Bond.
    • The anime's Castilian and Latin American Spanish dubs translate this scene as Yor mishearing that dogs "can't tell detonants apart."
  • Anya is standing in front of Bond when she takes a bite of his food while in the manga, she is standing beside him.
