The Eden Beginnings Arc is the third story arc in SPY x FAMILY.
Anya Forger begins attending Eden Academy and begins her mission to collect Stella Stars and befriend Damian Desmond.

Preparing for School[]
Handler briefs Loid
With Anya now officially set to attend Eden Academy, the Forgers return to the tailor shop to size-fit an official uniform for her, and the owner mentions some shady rumors about the school that frighten Anya. Afterward, the Forgers stop at a restaurant to eat, and the chef relays a cipher in Loid's meal directing him to a meeting in five days. On the day of the rendezvous, Twilight meets his Handler, who briefs him on phase two of "Operation Strix": the social gathering. In Eden Academy, the social circle that Donovan Desmond belongs to is accessible to students joining the school's honor program known as Imperial Scholars, along with their parents. Anya will need to earn eight Stella Star merits to enter the Imperial Scholars, but getting eight Tonitrus Bolt demerits will lead to her expulsion.
Anya gets her school uniform
Meanwhile, Yor and Anya finish getting her uniform and other apparel, heading to the park to show off her uniform for praise from other mothers. While watching Anya's jubilance, Yor hears other mothers talk about their dinner plans and recalls the admissions incident about her inability to cook, and begins wishing to be a better mother for Anya. The pair stop by the supermarket to get cooking ingredients for dinner, and some delinquents see Anya's uniform and go to abduct her for ransom. However, Yor intervenes while destroying her groceries and scares away the delinquents after asserting herself as Anya's mother. Anya thanks and praises Yor for her action and asks to learn her strength, wanting to be safe in Eden. An optimistic Yor takes Anya home and trains her to fight as Loid returns from his day at work; confused and still uneasy at seeing the girls training.[1]
The Orientation Incident[]
Anya punches Damian
At the Eden orientation ceremony for the new students, Anya telepathically heard Loid's "Friendship Scheme" regarding Donovan's second son, Damian: to befriend him foremost should she not make it into the Imperial Scholars. Joining with her classmates in Cecile Hall under Housemaster Henry Henderson for the school tour, Anya finds herself at odds with Damian for his smug attitude and classist disregard for her family. As a response to his and his friends' bullying, Anya makes a smug face which irritates Damian further but earns the respect of classmate Becky Blackbell. As the class resumes the tour, a humiliated Damian retaliates upon Anya for her defiance, throwing a paper wad at her from the back of the student line. Anya continues to endure the boys' bullying and eventually punches Damian. When questioned directly by Henderson on why she punched Damian, Anya claims it was because he stepped on Becky's foot. While Becky and Henderson are impressed by Anya's claim, Henderson gives her a Tonitrus Bolt, which would have been three if not for his discretion. After the tour, Henderson privately informs Loid and Yor of the altercation and punishment, stating he will also inform Desmond's family. The Forgers are demoralized by this, especially Loid, who realizes that both of his plans have already begun with a bust.[2]
Loid pressures Anya to study
The next day, Loid cheers Anya up for her first day of school but urges her to apologize to Damian. However, Becky continues to discourage Anya from doing so, forcing Loid to continually pressure her throughout the day. After Loid draws Becky away, Anya makes a tearful apology to Damian, who realizes he is developing feelings for her but rejects her apology out of embarrassment, to Loid's dismay.[3] At home, Loid proceeds with the original plan and tries to get Anya to study, which overwhelms the girl as she runs away to her room. Yor helps Loid realize that he has been pressuring Anya too much and suggests praising her for her effort. Loid is unsure about doing so, doubtful of his role as a father, but Yor reassures him. Loid goes to check on Anya and notices that she fell asleep while studying. After tucking her into bed, he questions how he would feel if they were a real family. Returning home from work, Yuri Briar is shocked to learn about his sister's marriage.[4]
