Donna Schlag (ドナ・シュラーグ, Dona Shurāgu?) is a teacher and a member of Eden Academy's disciplinary committee. She takes pleasure in giving as many students as she can Tonitrus Bolts for whatever small reason.
Appearance[]
Donna is a stout, middle-aged woman. She has short, bobbed hair, and her hairline has a lightning-shaped pattern. She is seen wearing sharp cat eyeglasses and dark lipstick.
Donna's outfit consists of a tiger-print dress under a black collarless coat and a large belt fashioned with a square buckle with the shape of the letter "R" in the middle. She accessorizes with squared earrings and a necklace with the "R," which is held at the corner. She also wears white gloves, each fitted with two rings on the middle and index finger. From left to right, the rings have the letters "E" and "C," the initials for Eden College. For footwear, she wears black heels.

Donna enjoys punishing students
Donna is extremely strict when it comes to following the rules, as she will punish any student for any infraction, no matter how minor. Henry Henderson tries to justify her acts as an attempt to refocus the student body, but when Anya reads her mind, it is revealed that Donna takes pleasure in these punishments.
History[]
Young Donna
Donna studied at Eden Academy around the same time as Martha Marriott. They both were in the ranks of the Imperial Scholars, but it is not known if they communicated closely. Donna planned to go to Berlint University of Education, but six months before her graduation, the first war broke out between Ostania and Westalis, and it is unknown whether she managed to carry out her plans.[2]
Years later, Donna joined Eden's staff as a member of the disciplinary committee. She became feared among Eden's students as "Old Lady Tonitrus" and is rumored to have single-handedly expelled over 100 students. Before the start of Anya's first school year, Donna was hospitalized for unknown reasons.[3]

Donna stuns a smoker
As the cloudy skies cover Eden Academy, Donna Schlag walks through the school grounds. Upon noticing a student smoking behind a pillar, she gestures to her secretary Rahden to hand her a box. With a loud clap of thunder, the student suddenly faints to the ground with a Tonitrus Bolt on his forehead as Donna walks away.
Outside of Cecile Hall's classroom, Bill Watkins runs to Anya and her classmates to warn them about Donna. Outside, a pair of messily dressed older students complain about the noisy first-years and suggest "shutting them up." Donna is behind them, and upon hearing this, she reaches into a box filled with Tonitrus Bolts before penalizing the boys for their unkempt uniforms, uncouth speech, and conspiring to commit acts of violence, placing Tonitrus Bolts on their foreheads. After this, Donna turns and poses, having hit them with her "Tonitrus Strike." Rahden compliments Donna on her bestowal of Tonitrus Bolts as she disparages the students of Murdoch Swan's Cline Hall.
Bill warns Cecile Hall of "Old Lady Tonitrus"
Henry Henderson arrives and greets her on her return as he looks at the fainted students. As they chat, Donna sees that Henry has grown soft after teaching the first-year students and suggests visiting his students next before walking away. Back at Cecile Hall's class, Bill explains Donna's prior absence and her fearsome reputation for handing out Tonitrus Bolts for any infraction, rumored to have single-handedly expelled over a hundred students. He warns them to run away as his classroom has already fallen victim to "Old Lady Tonitrus" and faints. Before the students can escape, Donna is already in front of them and introduces herself.
Donna instructs the children to line up and prepare for a bag inspection. She checks their bags, giving out Tonitrus Bolts for having snacks, playing cards, and even not knowing the rules. Reading her thoughts, Anya discovers that Donna is gleefully having fun with punishing the students and is terrified. Donna punishes a student for not bringing his handkerchief, and when the others question her for this, Donna recounts the tale of "Mr. Pee Pants," an honor student who wiped his wet hands on his pants, making his peers believe he peed his pants and humiliating him for it. She then says Mr. Pee Pants went on to become a delinquent and troublemaker, eventually getting expelled from Eden and joining an antigovernment resistance, where he was later caught by the Secret Police and his fate left unknown, and this story scares the students.
Donna gives Anya a Tonitrus
During Damian's turn for the bag inspection, Donna sees his handkerchief has the letter A, which she questions. Damian explains it is for the A on his name, so she accepts it. Next, Anya goes forward, and Donna gives her a Tonitrus since she did not bring a handkerchief. Damian attempts to speak up for her, but Anya stops him. Donna suspects the children are colluding and intends to give them two bolts each if she finds out they tricked her, and she is disappointed when nothing happens. After finishing the bag inspection, Donna leaves Cecile Hall.[1]
Red Circus Arc[]
At Eden Academy, some teachers learn that two of their school buses carrying their first-years got hijacked. As they gather to discuss the situation, Donna is seen to be worried as Henry says he will inform the principal and instructs the teachers to prevent the news from reaching the other students or the media.[4] After the bus hijacking crisis is resolved, Donna is present at Eden's awarding ceremony for Anya, Becky, Damian, and Bill.[5]
Love and War Arc[]
While Martha recounts her school years to Becky, she remembers that during her final year, she attended an assembly and overheard Donna's conversation, in which she planned to enroll at Berlint U of E after their graduation.[2]

- Discipline: As the title of her occupation suggests, Donna maintains authority over the students and takes disciplinary action in the case of misconduct, though she punishes even the most trivial of offenses with Tonitrus Bolts.

As fellow teachers, Donna and Henry are familiar with each other. When she returns to Eden, she believes that he has gotten soft due to the influence of his first-year students. While her methods are strict, Henderson hopes they are her way of refocusing the student body as they acclimate to school life.

- Her name comes from the German word Donnerschlag, which translates to "thunderclap" or "thunderstrike."
- Donna is one of the least-favorite teachers at Eden, the other being Murdoch Swan.[6]
