Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions is an original 2D isometric crossover game between the Shonen Jump+ manga series.
On February 16, 2022, Shueisha started its own videogame division titled "Shueisha Games." On March 31, 2022, 4 titles were announced, including Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions.[1] It features SPY x FAMILY, Kaiju No. 8, Slime Life, Heart Gear, Summer Time Rendering, Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku, Ghost Reaper Girl, and 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess.
The game was released for Nintendo Switch on July 28, 2022. On February 29, 2024, it was released for the Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam. The game supports Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese language options.
Synopsis[]
This tactical action crossover RPG is about a young boy named Damien, who transforms into the titular hero of the game, "Captain Velvet Meteor," and goes on adventures as he looks for solutions to his inner problems. In these adventures, he is accompanied by his favorite Jump+ heroes, each of them imparting some form of wisdom to him.
Experience Damien's struggles living in Japan for the first time as he interacts with his family in his grandmother's home. The boy can encounter some real-world problems like his pet dog suddenly becoming violent or an uncomfortable run-in with a well-meaning old woman. From here, Damien transitions (in a very cute interactive sequence) into his Captain Velvet Meteor persona within his imagination, framing his day-to-day life as having crash-landed on an alien planet.

Immerse yourself in the "Jump+ Dimensions," the world of Damien's imagination, where he takes part in strategic battles that include puzzle and stealth elements. Use signature attacks of your Jump+ companions through Power and Assist Combos to unleash massive damage on hoards of enemies. Or get strategic with abilities that inflict status effects or knock enemies aside to help control the battlefield.

Each of the featured characters is in some way connected to Damien's real-life problems. For example, Damien's rift with his father materializes as Captain Velvet Meteor exploring with Loid Forger.

Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions ~The Beginning~ (キャプテン・ベルベット・メテオ ジャンプ＋異世界の"小"冒険～導入編～, Kyaputen Berubetto Meteo Janpu + Isekai no "Shō" Bōken ~Dōnyū Hen~?) is a prequel one-shot manga written by the game's co-developer Rinaldo Wirz and illustrated by Masato Ichishiki. It was released on July 30, 2022.[2]
This is the story of Damien, a shy boy born to a French father and a Japanese mother, whose life transforms when his family moves to Japan. The boy copes with his newfound loneliness with the power of his infinite imagination and creates an imaginary hero named "Captain Velvet Meteor." In his imaginary world, Damien sets off on an adventure with his favorite Jump+ heroes and fights to adjust to his new home and find himself.
