Berlint Aqualand

Berlint Aqualand (バーリント水族館 (すいぞくかん) , Bārinto Suizokukan^?) is an aquarium located in the capital city of Ostania, Berlint.

Description[]

One of the best aquariums in Ostania. A large aquarium welcomes visitors at the entrance. The aquarium's main attraction is its penguin park, which is the largest in the world and home to 200 penguins.^[1]

After Loid overhears the neighbors gossip about the family not being seen together lately, he announces to Yor and Anya that they will go on an outing on the weekend. Seeing Anya's penguin drawing, Loid decides that their outing will be at Berlint Aqualand.

On the day of their outing, Loid ends up accepting an extra mission at the aquarium, where he must secure a microfilm that contains specifications for a chemical weapon. Said microfilm has been placed inside of a penguin and is being sought after by a group of terrorists. At the aquarium, Anya happily runs around to look at the aquarium's animals before the Forgers run into two of their neighbors, who Yor invites to join them on the outing. At Loid's suggestion, the group goes to the penguin exhibit. There, Anya helps Loid find a penguin of interest using her mind-reading and points out Parlie, an emperor penguin who appears to have something in its throat.

Loid leaves to investigate and infiltrates the penguin-keeping staff by taking the place of a rookie penguin keeper. Inside the exhibit, Loid inadvertently impresses the chief keeper and other staff with his management skills with the penguins as he reaches Parlie. While taking Parlie away to the veterinarian, Loid confirms that Parlie is the penguin with the microfilm. Loid is approached by a stranger claiming to be a marine biologist and asking to take the penguin. Loid asks for the man's I.D. and exposes it as a fake, startling the man as he attempts to pull out his gun. Loid swats the gun away, and the terrorist flees to regroup with his allies.

Loid decides to prioritize the microfilm, but Anya, who followed Loid and watched the scene from a higher level, chases after the terrorist on her own. Anya manages to cling to the man's jacket hem and cries out to Yor, who was searching for her, that she is getting kidnapped. Yor rushes at the terrorist and violently kicks him into the ceiling, thus saving Anya. Loid also sees this and is able to both secure the microfilm and learn about the terrorist organization from the man.

Later, Yor and Anya regroup with the neighbors, who gossip about Loid's absence and suggest that he is cheating. Loid arrives shortly after with a large penguin plush for Anya that he got from a contest to name all the penguins at the exhibit, which he won on his first try but claims otherwise. After talking with the ladies, Loid manages to leave them with a good impression of him, finally smoothing things down on both ends. The exhausted Loid contemplates taking a vacation but reconsiders after seeing Anya and Yor's smiling faces, reminding himself that to gain a country without war, he does not have time to rest. Anya then tries to hurry Loid so they can see the dolphin show, but Loid replies that he needs a breather first. Meanwhile, the rookie returns to his job and is shocked to learn that he has been promoted to chief.^[2]
