History[]

Becky was born as the daughter of the CEO of Blackbell Heavy Industries, a major military manufacturer. She is often doted on and spoiled by her father, being given expensive rewards for succeeding at tests, some of these being a giant cake, a small house, a diamond-studded doll, a pink tank, a pink warplane, a tiara with real gems, and a dog. Her dog appears to be a Yorkshire Terrier named Wiesel, whom she affectionately nicknames "Weezy."[1]

Becky teases the other kids

Becky quarrels with the other children in kindergarten

In kindergarten, Becky would call the other children brats, which her butler, Martha Marriott, would try to dissuade. When Becky learned that she would be attending Eden Academy, she refused, believing the other students were ill-bred. Eventually, Becky begrudgingly accepted that she would go to the school and said that adults must learn how to endure the masses with a smile. Martha then taught her madam to understand that not having everything figured out is the first step toward growing up.[2]

Unaware that Anya could read her thoughts, Becky is surprised when Anya ignores her. When Damian Desmond and his friends pick on Anya, Anya says she does not care and shows off a smug smile, which makes Becky see her as mature. During the school tour, Damian throws a paper ball at Anya. Becky threatens to tell on the boys, and Damian shoves her away while stepping on her foot. Damian further bullies Anya, who suddenly punches him while Becky and his friends look on in shock. When Henry Henderson comes over to check on them, Becky explains the boys' bullying of Anya. Becky wants to become better friends with Anya

The next day, Becky arrives at school and greets Anya. On the way to class, they see Damian and his followers, and Anya attempts to speak to him, but Becky drags her away, telling her not to talk to them. In the classroom, everyone avoids the two as they are afraid of Anya, but Becky tells Anya they should be best friends as only she knows how great she is. When the class ends, Becky wakes up a dozing Anya, who wants to apologize to Damian and mumbles about world peace. Becky thinks she means her school peace and promises to protect Anya. As Becky keeps stopping Anya from apologizing, Loid Forger uses the audio system to call Becky to the assembly hall, giving Anya a chance to go and apologize to Damian. Becky heads to the assembly hall but is unable to find the person who called her there.[4]

Secret Police Arc[]

In math class, the teacher calls on Anya to answer the question written on the blackboard. She proudly stands and proclaims that it is three-thirds, to the amazement of Becky. However, the teacher tells her she is completely wrong, and the classroom falls silent.[5]

Anya and Becky argue with Damian, Emile, and Ewen at the start of class

Becky and Anya arguing with Damian, Emile and Ewen

Before the start of class, Anya and Becky are arguing with Damian, Emile Elman, and Ewen Egeburg, while Henry gives a look of disappointment having to deal with this so early in the day. Later, Becky tells Anya about a rumor of a chance to earn a Stella Star in P.E. class. On the day of the game, Anya, Becky, and Damian's gang have a bit of an argument before they line up on the court. Henderson announces that he will oversee the interclass dodgeball match between Cecile Hall and Wald Hall as Coach Bobby is out sick.

Becky is eliminated by Bill

Becky is eliminated from the game

At the start of the game, Damian tries to eliminate Bill Watkins, who starts taking out several students on the Cecile Hall team. Becky worries that she might die if Bill hits her, who assures her that he goes easy on the girls. Becky gets annoyed and attempts to take out Bill, but he catches the ball and eliminates her with ease. Damian and Anya soon become the only students left on their team, with Anya inching closer to going out-of-bounds. Becky notices this and yells at Anya to watch out for the people out-of-bounds. Anya tries to step back, but trips and falls. Bill takes the opportunity to take out Anya, but Damian takes the hit for her, shocking everyone. Anya decides to avenge Damian's "death" and throws the ball at Bill, but the ball hits the ground and bounces toward Bill, who throws it right back and hits her. After the game, Becky consoles Anya and starts arguing with Damian and his friends when they yell at her friend.[6]

When Anya earns a Stella Star after saving a boy from drowning, Becky congratulates her for getting the first Stella Star in their grade.[7] The next day at school, Becky greets Anya, who asks to be called "Starlight Anya" from now on. While the nickname annoys her, Becky states that, with this fame, Anya could probably make 100 friends in a day. Becky and Anya head to their class, where their classmates begin to badmouth Anya for wearing her Stella Star to class and try to assert that the whole incident was faked and Anya did not deserve the Stella Star. When asked for his thoughts, Damian defends Anya's achievement, surprising everyone.

Becky thinks about Wiesel

Becky and Anya head to lunch, where she asks what Anya got as a reward for earning a Stella. Anya thinks she could get peanuts, but Becky pushes her to think bigger and imagine the gifts she has gotten—dresses, tiaras, and a tank. Seeing all of Becky's gifts frightens Anya about the amount of money the Blackbell family has. Anya decides she wants a castle, but Becky tries to get her to lower her request size. Becky brings up her pet dog, which makes Anya curious.[8]

Doggy Crisis Arc[]

After the weekend, Anya returns to class and greets Becky. She then tells Becky that she got a dog, and Becky proceeds to ask about the dog before inviting Anya to a dog playdate. Later, at lunch, Anya asks Becky how to name a dog. Becky tells her to name the dog after something, like a flower or food. Anya immediately comes to the name "Peanut," but Becky shoots down the idea because it does not fit how the dog looks. Anya imagines her dog and then comes to the name "Furry," and Becky shoots it down again and tells her to let her parents handle it.[9]

Midterm Exams Arc[]

Episode 17-2

Becky scares Anya with questions about Loid

Becky greets Anya as they head to school for the morning. Becky asks if Anya saw the episode of Berlint in Love that aired last night, but Anya replies that she only watches cartoons. Becky begins talking about how childish Anya is for not even knowing what love is, saying that "love can make you soar through the sky." Anya then drops her family photo on the ground and attempts to bring it to the attention of Damian, who ignores her. Becky picks up the photo and sees Anya's father, Loid Forger, whom she finds very dreamy, and decides to keep it for herself.

Henry supervises the students as they go to their arts-and-crafts class, as the art teacher is sick. The assignment is to make a three-dimensional model with the provided materials while in a group, the theme being "animals." Becky says goodbye to Anya as they are at different tables, but Anya just worriedly asks for her photo back, which Becky refuses.

Becky shows off her paper Loid model

Becky shows off her art project

Henry looks over the students' work and cooperation and takes notice of Becky's creation. Becky tells him that she made Anya's dad, which shocks Henry, and he tells her to start over because the theme is "animals." Becky stands firm with her work and tells Henry that humans are animals, which he realizes is true. He tells Becky that she can continue, but she instead decides to start over as Loid is more evolved than simple animals, crushing the model. Eventually, Becky finishes her new model, a crocodile, which she displays in the hall with the other students' models.[10]

Henry announces to the students that their midterm exams will be in two weeks. He says the top two students in each subject will receive a Stella Star, while students who fail an exam will receive a Tonitrus Bolt for each failed one. While Henry proceeds to return their history quizzes from the day prior, Becky talks to Anya about their upcoming tests, and Anya confidently says she has been studying hard lately. Two weeks later, the students at Eden Academy sit down in the exam hall and prepare to take their exams. Becky asks Anya if she is ready, and Anya gives Becky a statement of confidence, saying she will blow her away with her "swole Chihuahua" before Henry announces that the midterm exams will now begin.[11]

Becky is happy that Anya is not upset by her midterm scores

Becky is happy for Anya

Five days after the midterms, the scores are posted in the Quad. Becky finds herself in 46th place, while Anya placed 213th out of 228 students. Despite barely passing, Anya is very proud of this, and Becky is happy for her, saying she loves how Anya always looks on the bright side.[12]

The Cecile Hall students clean up the courtyard, and Becky remarks to Anya about how calm things are now that the midterms are over. Anya says that Loid is probably more relaxed since she avoided getting a Tonitrus Bolt, which makes Becky ask whether he is strict or gets angry. Anya tells her he is a monster, and Becky sympathizes with having parents with lofty expectations but also finds the idea of a monster Loid attractive.

Damian's Rolling Sweep Anime

Damian interrupts Becky and Anya

Damian, who performs a move he calls "Desmond Style Rolling Sweep," interrupts their conversation, which flings a bunch of dirt into Anya and Becky's faces and causes them to cough. Emile and Ewen both compliment Damian on his cleaning skills. A bunch of other students also surround him, shower him with compliments, and ask about having a study group with him before the next exam. Becky annoyedly looks at Damian and complains about how obnoxious he is, but Anya instead says she wants to go to Damian's study group as well. Becky pauses for a moment, then says she forgot Anya had a thing for Damian, which makes Anya wonder what this "thing" is.

Anya notices a gloomy-looking boy and asks Becky who he is. Becky tells her he is their classmate, George Glooman. Becky asks Anya if she likes Damian, but Anya ignores the question and tells Becky she wants to know more about George. Becky is shocked, believing that Anya will fall for any guy, and suggests staying away from George because of how gloomy he is. After Becky sees Anya defending Damian when George tries to frame him and get him expelled, she squeals, believing this was some romantic moment between the two. Becky tells Anya that Damian probably knows exactly how she feels now, embarrassing Damian, but Anya is still confused.

Listening to George's request

Becky and the others listen to George's request

After questioning him, George claims that the Desmond Group bought out his family company, which went bankrupt. George believed that if Damian had gotten expelled, his family would be too distracted to mess with Glooman Pharmaceuticals. Damian yells at him, telling him there is no way his father's company drove Glooman's out of business, and Becky agrees, saying that George went too far. Pitying George's situation, the students of Cecile Hall indulge in his final wishes before he leaves Eden. Happy at being treated so nicely, George bursts into tears and asks for one last request: to sing the school chorus with everyone. Becky is the first to start singing, and eventually, everyone from Cecile Hall except Anya sings the chorus together. Afterward, the students give George one of their belongings as parting gifts to remember them. They wish George a grand farewell and tell him that he will always be a part of Cecile Hall.

The next day, an embarrassed George returns to school, and an annoyed Becky reminds him to return what was given to him.[13]

Campbelldon Tennis Arc[]

Becky listens to Anya's report

Becky admires Loid's work

Henry instructs the children to investigate an occupation that interests them for their upcoming social studies project. He suggests various methods, such as interviewing their parents about their jobs, making inquiries at a local business, getting their parents to arrange an interview with a prominent figure in their field, or even asking himself about educators. He adds that they will each prepare a report about their chosen profession and present it to the class on Friday. Becky decides to pick her father's company and asks Anya about her choice. On Friday, Anya talks about Loid's work as a psychiatrist. Anya mentions his dedication to his work and reason for becoming a psychiatrist, which Becky finds noble.[14]

After Yor Forger accepts Fiona Frost's challenge to a tennis match, Anya sees the tension between the women and recalls Becky telling her about a love rivalry in the latest episode of Berlint in Love, where the main character's fiancé ran into his childhood girlfriend. Relating this to the current situation, Anya says she now understands what Becky what talking about, saying that she likes action battles too.[15]

Imperial Scholars Mixer Arc[]

While following Damian and his friends in the halls, Anya expresses her frustration as she watches them from a corner. Becky appears and agrees, saying she can empathize with Anya about communicating their love. Anya realizes Becky is talking about liking Damian and bluntly denies it, which Becky assumes is her being bashful. Becky decides to help make Damian fall for Anya by dressing her up cute, assured that Damian will fall for Anya if she does. Thus, Becky and Anya go on a shopping trip on the weekend.

Anya surprises Becky and Martha with her cash

Becky thinks that Anya has a little money

Martha drives the girls to the shopping center, where Anya is excited to be riding around in their fancy car. Becky complains about not seeing Loid when she picked up Anya and how tough of a rival Yor will be after seeing how pretty she is. Becky also compliments Anya's bag (by working-class standards) and asks what is inside. Anya produces a large wad of cash, which Becky does not see as enough. Anya wonders how many peanuts she can buy with the money, but Becky reminds her that they are shopping for clothes.

At the shopping center, the staff treats Becky like royalty, and Anya is surprised by all this. She asks how much money Becky brought, but she replies that she has never brought money anywhere in her life. Becky tells Anya that the store usually brings stuff to her house, but she was so excited to go shopping with Anya that she reserved the whole store. With that, Becky helps Anya find a look that even Damian cannot resist, and Anya tries on various stylish outfits while Becky shares her thoughts.

Becky tries on Yor's outfit

Becky tries on Yor's outfit

Anya gets overwhelmed with the fashion and points out that Damian will not be able to see her new clothes since she wears her uniform at school every day, to which Becky says all the Halls throw parties at the end of the term, and students will be allowed to wear street clothes there with the teacher's permission. Becky realizes that if the parties are open to parents, Loid will most likely be there. She decides to get clothes for herself too and tries on different outfits to see what Loid would like, even trying out Yor's style. In the end, Becky cannot come to a decision and buys them all, much to Anya's shock, while Martha simply sighs.

Anya enjoys the day spent with Becky

Becky is touched to be called Anya's friend

Becky asks Anya about her choice, but as Anya is exhausted with the clothes, they decide to check out all the accessories at the store. As Becky buys more things, the boxes Martha carries continue to stack up. They eventually stop at a café to rest and have sweets, where Becky tries to find Martha among the many boxes. Becky remarks that Anya did not get anything, and Anya says she does not even know what she wants, reiterating that fashion is hard. Becky looks quietly, then shyly asks if Anya had fun shopping. Anya smiles brightly and tells Becky she had so much fun, as this is the first time she has gone shopping with a friend. Touched to be called a friend, Becky decides to find something Anya wants while Martha watches from the side with a smile.

The girls head to a stuffed animal shop, but a sheep keychain catches Anya's attention. Anya asks what the sheep is, and Becky explains it is a department store's mascot. Seeing how cute it is, Anya decides to buy one, while Becky remarks on how childish Anya is. Anya says it will be a memento of their shopping trip and proof that they survived. Becky seems hesitant about the idea, but before she can voice her opinion, Anya buys one for herself and for Becky.

Anya and Becky's matching keychains

Anya and Becky show off their matching keychains

Becky sees a cheap gift and doubts whether she should accept it. However, Martha quickly urges her not to spurn the gesture of friendship, saying her father would say the same, so an embarrassed Becky then takes the keychain. She asks Anya why they went shopping in the first place, and Anya says she forgot. They brush it off and decide to head home, where they fall asleep on the drive back. When they return to school, Becky and Anya greet each other and talk about their matching keychains with big smiles on their faces.[16]

On the day of the Imperial Scholars Mixer, classes are dismissed early, and Becky is happy to get a half day, and she invites Anya out for some shopping. However, Anya ignores her and instead goes after Damian and his friends, with Becky following close behind. When Damian calls Anya names while telling her to stay away from him, Anya suggests punching him again, but Becky tells her that she will get expelled if she does. Anya suddenly runs off again, to Becky's dismay, as she only wants to go home.

Anya stops Damian from leaving

Becky is surprised by Anya's intervention

The two catch up to Damian's group, where Anya tries to stop Damian from calling off his meeting with his father. Anya tells Damian that she is aware of his poor mark on their recent reading test, saying that she looked over his shoulder, which makes Becky think she is a stalker. Anya says Damian is scared his father will find out about his poor grade and tries empathizing with him, admitting to getting 17 points. Anya says she does not know if Loid likes her, so she is also scared, and she adds that he gets mad at her often. Despite that, Anya believes in her father because she loves him, so she will use all her courage to tell him that she failed. Everyone stares at Anya in confusion, and she quickly wonders aloud what she was just talking about.

Sleeping Anya is returned to her home

Becky surprises Yor

Damian is convinced and waits for the mixer to end. Becky is surprised that Anya is doing the same since she still wants to go home. She assumes Anya is eager to meet Damian's parents because she wants their blessing to marry, misinterpreting her seriousness. Becky decides to wait with Anya, hoping to see the "big moment" with her own eyes. Anya falls asleep shortly after, and Becky realizes her mistake. She instructs a nearby Martha to take Anya back to their car, and they head off. On their way out, they pass by Loid, who disguises himself as a teacher.[17] Martha and Becky then drop off the sleeping Anya to the Forger household, to Yor's surprise.[18]

At the school cafeteria, Anya and Becky play pretend with their matching sheep dolls. Becky tries to play a romantic story with a prince, then a battle story with twins separated at birth, but Anya does not understand and refuses to play along. Becky tells Anya news about how new classes will divide the students by performance at the end of the term. After hearing Becky's explanation, Anya is horrified that she might be all alone, so Becky encourages her to work harder. Becky adds that the grouping is rumored to be based on not just midterms and finals but tomorrow's quizzes too.

The kids running to the cafeteria

Becky, Anya, Damian, Ewen, and Emile running to the cafeteria

The girls overhear two older students gossiping about the Pastries of Knowledge, made by a formal royal chef who can guarantee a spot as an Imperial Scholar. Hearing this, the girls rush to the dining hall, where the pastries are. Anya thinks she could be a genius if she ate one, while Becky is excited to try macarons from a former royal chef. They soon see a queue of students for the pastries, but Damian and his friends run up next to them with the same goal. The server announces that there is only one order left of the special Pierre Pommier Macaron set. The two groups try to be first to get the last set but are stunned when George has already bought the macarons for himself.

Becky and Damian demand the macaron set from George

Becky and Damian demand George's macarons

Damian and Becky rush up to George and demand he give them the macarons. When George says they are his because he bought them with his allowance, the kids remind him what he owes them. George concedes to giving up four macarons out of the set of five macarons. They realize they have five people and decide to have a round of Old Maid to determine who gets the macarons. Anya is unaware of the rules as she has never played cards before, so Becky quickly explains the rules to her.

To everyone's surprise, Anya flawlessly wins the game. Damian and his friends are in disbelief and accuse her of cheating, which Becky refutes. Anya then suggests they play another round, to Becky's dismay, and she tells her not to give in to them. On Anya's turn, she takes the joker from Ewen's deck. Damian and his friends laugh at Anya, tempting her to hit them, but Becky calms her down. Eventually, everyone else gets rid of the cards, leaving only Anya and Damian. While Becky cheers her friend on, Anya panics at the thought of not getting a macaron, thus failing her tests and being in a different class from Becky. As Damian is about to take a card, Anya begins to cry.

Anya gets her bad quiz results

Becky and the other students are in disbelief at Anya's bad results

After the game, George gives everyone their share of the macaron, except Damian, who took the joker from Anya's cards. The kids eat their macarons. Anya becomes fired up after eating the pastry and studies excitedly until the quizzes the next day. When their results come back, Henry Henderson shows that Anya's quiz results are just as bad as before, and the other students stare at Anya in disbelief. Becky tries to cheer up the depressed Anya, saying she will make it up on her finals.[19]

Cruise Adventure Arc[]

Anya shocked by Becky's reaction to her trip

Becky sees Anya's cruise trip as nothing special, to her friend's shock

After the midterm break, the students return to Eden Academy and chatter about what they did during their break. Becky greets Anya and, upon noticing her slight tan, asks her friend where she went. Anya responds that she went to the "Grandest Luxury Liner in all of Ostania." Becky brushes it off as nothing special, surprising Anya. Anya says her trip was special and struggles to say the ship's name. Becky recognizes it as Princess Lorelei and says she went on it before the start of school, mentioning how she stayed in the Imperial Suite. Anya is shocked and says she stayed in a third-class prison cell. Emile laughs at her while Ewen remarks that Anya is not embarrassed to admit to staying in a lower-class suite. Anya hears their insults and reddens up in embarrassment and irritation.

The boys brag about their fancy escapades during their break, and Becky talks about how she had her father let her meet the famous starlet Rachel at a party. The other students gather around Becky, praising her and her family, and ask about her meeting with Rachel. Wanting a share of the attention, Anya starts lying about the details of her trip, mentioning secret villains called the "Octopeople." However, the students ignore her and ask Becky about Rachel. When the teacher arrives and asks how the students spent their break, Anya gets made fun of because of her lie.

Anya gets advice from George Glooman

Becky hears George's advice for Anya

At the end of the day, Becky comforts a gloomy Anya, saying she can understand the desire to make oneself look better. She says there is nothing wrong with it if it helps Anya become the person she wants to be. While Anya is happy to hear this, George interjects, warning her not to lie too much lest she become an outcast like him.[20]

WISE Arc[]

Becky watches Berlint in Love

Becky emotionally perceives a scene

At home, Becky watches a scene of Berlint in Love on television, where the male lead Vincent gets seduced by his lover Sonia. Reminded by her now-framed photo of the Forgers, Becky calls up Anya's home and pretends that she happens to be dropping by their house while in the neighborhood. Soon after, Becky is at their door, startling Anya with her quick arrival. Becky's thoughts reveal her intent to confess her love to Loid, though Martha disapproves.

Anya calls over Loid, announcing Becky's visit. Loid welcomes Becky to their home with a bright smile and thanks her for being Anya's friend, causing Becky to fall to the floor with a lovestruck expression. Martha leaves Becky at the Forgers' home and reminds her to behave. Anya takes Becky on a quick tour of the house, but the gap between their financial status is evident when Becky assumes their living room is a storage vestibule and is amazed at Anya's room being smaller than her dog's doghouse, leading Anya to put a stop to their tour.

Becky dreams of becoming Loid's wife

Becky imagines herself as Loid's wife

After finding out that Yor is out walking Bond Forger, Becky begins to fantasize about her and Loid in an analogous situation as the Berlint in Love scene earlier, with her marrying Loid. She imagines herself as the new Forger mother and thinks that even Anya would be delighted by that, imagining their life together filled with wealth and fun. Anya then asks Loid to play with them, and Becky thanks her for the assist. Loid chats with Becky, trying to gain more intel on the activities of Becky's father, while Becky is flustered as she wonders if Loid is interested in her.

Shortly after, Yor arrives home with Bond and greets Becky, whom she calls the last boss. Anya tries to introduce Bond to Becky, who is too preoccupied with planning on defeating Yor to notice. Becky tries using a technique she learned from her television dramas, letting her hair down and flipping it, but to no avail. Later, Yor seats Becky beside Loid, serving them black tea. Becky starts blushing sitting next to Loid and wonders if this is a scheme from Yor, but she sees this as her chance to win Loid over. She asks Loid why he was interested in her family, and he replies that he was just having a conversation. This shocks Becky, who claims he has been playing her the entire time, making him spit out his drink. However, Yor sees nothing of this, upsetting Becky. Becky does her final trick, leaning on Loid's arm and pretending to be tipsy after drinking the tea.

Yor assumes Becky is drunk Anime

Yor assumes Becky is drunk

Yor is distraught, thinking she somehow poured alcohol into Becky's tea, and quickly carries her to a hospital, despite Loid's protests. In her rush, she sees an oncoming car and tosses Becky in the air before taking a hit from the car and doing a roll to catch Becky, to the girl's shock. Yor continues to the hospital, but Becky stops her and reveals that she lied about being drunk to get Loid to go out with her. Yor is not upset and is relieved for Becky's well-being. Yor apologizes for jumping to conclusions and dragging Becky to a nearby park, wondering aloud how Loid can put up with her. Becky then asks Yor why Loid chose to marry her, and Yor recalls her hazy memory of the night Loid said she was strong, which Becky interprets literally.

Shortly after, Loid and Anya catch up with them with Becky's belongings. Seeing a strongman game, Becky tries to prove her strength to Loid by winning, but falls under the hammer's weight. Yor assumes Becky wants to win the grand prize for Loid and single-handedly wrecks the game with her strength, rendering everyone speechless. Wanting to be strong like Yor, Becky asks to be trained, and Yor teaches her how to punch when they return home. When Martha arrives to pick up Becky, what she sees confuses her.[21]

Becky goes shopping with Wiesel and Martha

Becky chooses a new outfit

As the lives of other citizens of Berlint are shown, Becky does some shopping at home, carrying Wiesel with her as she tries on new clothes and looks to Martha.[22]

In Cecile Hall's classroom, Henry berates the students for the recent increase in tardiness and late homework assignments. As Anya and Becky chat while leaving the classroom, Damian, who mocks Anya's tardiness, interrupts them and bets that she will be the first to be expelled for getting eight bolts. This irritates Becky and suggests hitting Damian with "Master Yor's knockout punch," something Anya was also planning to do. Becky starts bickering with Emile and Ewen, who declare they will run through the school in their underpants if Damian ever gets a Tonitrus Bolt.

Bill warns Cecile Hall of Donna Schlag

Bill warns Cecile Hall of Donna Schlag

Before Damian can rebuke them, Bill Watkins runs towards them, warning them to run away before it is too late. Bill warns the students of Donna Schlag of the Disciplinary Committee. He explains her prior absence and a fearsome reputation for handing out Tonitrus Bolts for any infraction, rumored to have singlehandedly expelled over a hundred students. He urges them to run away as his classroom has already fallen victim to "Old Lady Tonitrus" and faints. Before the students can escape, Donna is already there and introduces herself, instructing everyone to line up and prepare for a bag inspection.

Donna checks the bags, giving out Tonitrus Bolts for snacks and playing cards she finds. Damian is relaxed since he and his friends did not bring anything prohibited. To everyone's surprise, Donna punishes a student with a Tonitrus for not having a handkerchief.

Donna explains her actions by recounting the tale of an Eden honor student who, after leaving the bathroom, wiped his wet hands on his pants because he forgot to bring his handkerchief. Because of this, he earned the nickname "Mr. Pee Pants" and eventually got expelled after becoming a delinquent. The students quickly check for their handkerchiefs, but Anya, after giving her only handkerchief to Damian, ends up receiving a Tonitrus. After the bag inspection, Becky is relieved to have survived the encounter.[23]

Friendship Schemes Arc[]

At the end of the school day, Martha picks up Becky and says goodbye to Anya, who goes to wait at the school bus station.[24]

Anya Friendship Crash

Anya's "Friendship Crash" shocks Becky

Heading to school in the morning, Becky greets Anya, who asks for a way to get closer to Damian. Becky gets excited, believing that Anya wants to further her romantic advances with Damian. She tells Anya about a technique in which a girl holds bread in her mouth and bumps into a boy while turning a corner, and they will link their fates forever. Becky buys a yakisoba burger and stuffs it into Anya's mouth. As Damian and his friends approach the corner, Anya moves in for a "Friendship Crash," shocking Becky. Damian dodges the attack, knowing she might do something like this. While Anya kneels on the floor with the food in her mouth, Damian and his friends make fun of her appearance. Anya shouts at them but accidentally spits the burger onto Damian's head, both buns placed similarly to Anya's hair buns. Emile and Ewen tease him while Anya apologizes for wasting the food. Aggravated, Damian yells at her, shocking Anya. His friends warn him not to hit her, while Becky tells Anya they need to run.[25]

Damian calls Anya’s family worthless

Anya embarrasses Becky and Damian with her words

The next day, Anya confronts Damian, demanding the cake she believes she was promised. Damian says he never promised her anything, then yells at her for demanding anything after she spilled the food on him. Suddenly, Anya changes her mind and says she wants to go to his house with her family. While Damian gets flustered, Becky tells Anya she is being too aggressive, and Ewen says the idea of her family interacting with the Desmonds is laughable. In response, Anya says Yor has become friends with Melinda Desmond, Damian's mother. The others are shocked to hear this, and Becky assumes that Anya already has the Desmond family's blessing to be with him. After Anya tells Damian that Melinda did not say much about him, he quickly becomes stoic. Damian turns around in a huff and says Anya's family is no different from the rest—a bunch of flies buzzing around the Desmond name. Anya gets irritated and says she and her family are serious, referring to the mission, but Damian and Becky interpret it as a romantic statement, and Becky says that Anya has become deeply passionate as of late.[26]

Red Circus Arc[]

Damian tries to give treats to Anya

Becky asks if Anya brought any snacks

All the first-grade students are seen on school buses heading to the museum. Becky notices Anya's excitement, thinking they are going on an outing, so she corrects her, saying they are going to the museum for a cultural experience. Becky checks for some food in her bag and asks Anya if she brought snacks, only for Anya to take out two bags of peanuts, and Becky says she should have a more balanced meal. Suddenly, the bus takes another direction, and some strangers board inside. After immobilizing the dorm tutor chaperoning the students, the strangers introduce themselves as the Red Circus and declare the bus hijacked, scaring Becky and the other children.[27]

Anya realizes the place the Red Circus is heading to

Anya tells Becky the place the Red Circus is heading to

Billy Squire, the leader of the terrorists, walks through the bus with the shotgun in his hand, scaring the children. Becky gets worried when Anya starts looking unwell and tells her to be strong. After Bill tells the others to calm down and that help is on the way, Anya feels better, to Becky's relief. Billy begins to tell them that he knows how important their parents are, while he begins to call the Eden students by their surnames and for the work of their parents, including Becky. He tells them how they were born with all the luck in the world, threatening them to dare to pray to their parents to use the power they occupy to rescue them. Becky worriedly thinks that her father would never let anyone harm her. Moments later, Anya tells Becky that the terrorists are going to a place called Papier Palace Park. Surprised, Becky asks how she found out, and Anya says she read their lips. The two then plan to send a message to the people outside.

Anya writes a letter, but because her handwriting is messy, Becky writes it and adds her I.D. along with the Blackbells' S.O.S. code. After finishing it, Becky places it in her candy tin container. Damian notices the girls' odd behavior, so he throws them a note asking what they are planning, warning them not to do anything reckless lest they get themselves killed. Anya throws a response telling him their plan, which Damian cannot read, so Becky writes it again and throws it at him. Damian decides to help by creating a distraction. While taken aback by how terrible his distraction is, Becky uses this to open the window and let Anya throw out the container, which attracts the attention of some passersby. However, Billy sees this, so he grabs a strange collar and attaches it to Anya. Billy then reveals that it is a bomb, and if anyone else tries to act against them, he will blow it up along with Anya, shocking Becky and rest of the students.[28]

Anya learns the bomb is fake

Becky is afraid for Anya when a bomb gets placed on her

Becky starts to cry as she worries for Anya's safety, but suddenly Anya calms down and casually plops back to her seat, then says she is hungry. Becky and Damian are shocked by Anya's lack of distress, and she proceeds to whack on the bomb with her smug smile, which frightens everyone. After Damian steps up and requests that Anya's bomb get attached to him, Billy puts another bomb on Damian, and he starts to panic, so Anya holds his hand, assuring him that it will be okay and not to be scared. Becky calls Anya mature for this, which makes her so proud that she whacks on her bomb again. This scares Becky and Damian again, who start calling Anya an idiot. Suddenly, they are interrupted by a loud pop, and the bus starts to swerve around. The bus makes a stop, and the students are surprised to be unharmed. Police surround the bus shortly after, and the children are relieved to see them.[29]

While the students get excited at the thought of being rescued, Billy quickly shoots it down by firing at the ceiling and yelling at them to sit back in their seats. He then makes the students cover the bus windows with black sheets, then steps outside with Damian in tow to make his demands with the police.[30] While Billy waits for a response, the children are left to wait in anxiety, and Becky wonders if her parents and Martha have arrived yet.[31] The children then receive rations and water, courtesy of the Blackbell company. Once Becky learns this, she is relieved to know that her father is out there. While they eat, Damian and his friends complain about the food, but Bill and Becky tell them not to complain.[32]

The children talking about their stellas

Becky celebrates her first Stella

After the children are saved from the hijacking incident, a Stella Star awards ceremony at Eden Academy is held for Becky, Anya, Damian, and Bill. Because of these students' courageous actions during the hijacking crisis, they are each rewarded with a Stella Star. As all of them celebrate their achievement, Becky tells Anya that a newspaper wants to interview them, which could make them famous, but Henry clarifies that the interview has been declined for the safety of the students, much to Becky's disappointment as she planned it to be her debut as a singer.

Going back to the arrest of the Red Circus members, the Eden teachers are instructed to call the children's parents so they can pick them up. Moments later, Becky's dad rushes over to his daughter to hug her, and the two have a tearful reunion. Becky asks for her mother, to which her father replies she is at home extremely worried for her daughter, so they hurry home to see her. Together with Martha, the Blackbell family leaves the scene as Becky waves goodbye to Anya.[33]

Anya is upset by Damian's words

Becky tries to calm Anya down

In the present, Damian and Becky have risen in popularity among their classmates for their deeds during the crisis, most notably Anya (now going by "Double Starlight Anya"). Damian scoffs at Anya getting surrounded by their classmates, but Becky strikes a nerve when she suggests he is actually worried that Anya will get taken away from him. Wanting to give the impression that her family is strong, Anya begins lying about what she does in her everyday life as a commoner, worrying Becky. Becky chimes in by mentioning how she and Anya have gotten trained by Yor, who she says is strong. Anya tries training her classmates herself, but Damian stops them. Anya insults him, and Damian fires back with more insults that make Anya cry, making their classmates believe the Desmonds are far stronger. This upsets Anya as she bawls, and Becky tries to calm her down. Anya and Damian then start bickering, and Becky and the rest of the class leave the two behind as the school bell rings.[34]

Mole Hunt Arc[]

Becky and Martha arrive at the Forger residence to pick up Anya since the friends have planned to have a day together to go out. At the time of the farewell, Becky starts asking Loid if he will come with them and starts praising him as usual, only for Martha to shut her up as they finally leave the residence.[35]

Damian and Anya agreement to meet

Becky sees Damian agreeing to meet with Anya

Becky greets Anya at the school entrance as they head to class and sees Damian and his friends standing in the middle of the path. Anya asks Damian if the bag in his hand is for her, but he rudely denies it and runs away, confusing Anya and Becky. Later in class, Anya whispers to Becky that she needs help getting alone time with Damian, which excites her best friend. Becky suggests inviting Damian to the courtyard and tells her to write him a note to meet him there on their next break. Anya writes the note and passes it down to Damian, but it is completely ineligible. Becky urges Anya to write it again and guides her on how to write it. When Damian receives the new note and accepts, Becky is happy that Anya "won him over."

Emile, Becky, and Ewen are chasing Anya and Damian

Becky, Ewen, and Emile are chasing Anya and Damian

Before her meetup with Damian, Anya tells Becky she cannot come with her. Becky agrees, but her thoughts reveal that she will come anyway to witness what she believes will be a romantic moment. Becky watches Anya and Damian from the bushes with Ewen and Emile, who have come to support Damian in what they think is a fight. Becky sees the pair arguing and sees it as them exchanging their words of love with "violent passion." When they suddenly start running away, their friends persist in chasing after them, with Becky wanting to keep watching the drama unfold.

The group eventually stops in a hallway inside the school. The frustrated Damian decides to leave, and the others watch as Anya grabs his arm, telling him that she does not want him to go. Becky squeals at this, excited by the scenery. However, she, Ewen, and Emile run to hide when they hear Master Henderson approaching, but he knows they are hiding and calls them out, which causes them to run away to class.[36]

Term Finals Arc[]

The term finals are finally looming over the first-year students of Eden Academy. Becky reminds Anya to take these tests seriously as the results will determine their classes for the second term, which could result in Anya being left alone in a different class than her. Returning to school a few days later, Becky greets Anya and asks about her progress in her test prep. Anya confidently tells Becky she has "koala power" now, surprising Becky as she remembers Anya having "chihuahua power" during the midterms, but is not sure if this new "power" is a good thing. Anya adds that she has begun to enjoy studying a little bit, which surprises Becky even more. Throughout the rest of the week, Anya and Becky prepare for their upcoming exams.[37]

Becky and her classmates are surprised by Anya's high test score

Five days after the exams, the results are posted outside, and Becky and her classmates rush over to see their rankings. Becky is happy to find that she moved up to 38th place and congratulates Anya for jumping from 213th to 168th place. The kids then check the subject rankings, and Becky congratulates Damian for getting the highest score in History for their grade. She is disappointed to learn that she got the fifth-highest score in Language Studies but is surprised when they find that Anya is the second-highest scorer in Classical Language for their grade. Damian and his friends are shocked by this, but Becky tells them that Anya always gets great scores on quizzes for that subject, then congratulates Anya for her achievement. Later, when Anya goes into a panic after learning that she will also be getting a Tonitrus for failing her Math exam, Becky worries for her emotional state.

On the day of the award ceremony, Becky admits to feeling jealous of Anya, who is getting her third Stella. After the award ceremony for the middle schoolers, Becky tries to return to class with Anya but stops after she, Ewen, and Emile see Demetrius Desmond, Damian's older brother. Becky is shocked when she learns that he got six Stellas from the term finals and wonders how his brain works. When Demetrius leaves after his conversation with Damian, Becky comments that he seems like a creep.[38]

Anya invites Damian to be her dance partner

Becky surprised by Anya's bold invitation to Damian

The next big event at Eden is the end-of-class gala, and Becky and Anya see two older students agreeing to be partners for the dance. Becky thinks aloud about inviting Loid but is disappointed to learn from Henry that guardians will not be attending. Seeing Damian behind them, Becky urges Anya to invite him, saying they could get closer. To her surprise, Anya boldly invites Damian to be her dance partner, only to be rejected by him. Becky encourages Anya to keep trying, and they agree to pick out dresses together on their next day off.[39]

Accompanied by Martha, Anya and Becky head to a dress store to pick their dresses. There, Becky helps Anya look for dresses to impress Damian with. She asks Martha for her opinion but remarks that her butler does not seem to care for clothes. Martha replies that she also used to fret over dresses to wear when she was younger, prompting Becky to ask if she had a boyfriend, to which Martha simply chuckles to herself. While picking her own dress, Becky goes for a cute dress with sparkly bits. After Becky and Anya receive the bill for their respective dresses, Becky takes Anya back home. While walking to class the next day, Becky notices her friend's wobbly legs after lots of dance practice. Anya gets upset when Damian and his friends insult her appearance and tries to fight them, but Becky instructs Anya to not let them get to her.[40]

Henry and Martha accompany Becky to the party hall

Becky sees the party hall

On the day of the gala, a dressed-up Becky is escorted to the school by Martha and runs into Henry. Entering the party hall with the adults, Becky is surprised that all of Eden's first-year students are present, which Henry tells her is a good opportunity for students to acquaint themselves with potential classmates before their classes are reassigned. Anya arrives at the party, and Becky happily chats with her about their looks.

The party begins with friendly competitions between the classes, the first being a trivia quiz about the school. At Anya's turn, she struggles to say the full name of their headmaster, and Becky urges her to think. After the next two games, Villiers Hall wins the competition, and Becky and Anya watch the celebrating class.

Becky is asked to dance by several boys

Becky gets asked to dance by several boys

With the icebreaker game finished, a 30-minute interclass conversation to precede the dance is held, giving students time to invite someone to dance with them. Becky wishes she could dance with Loid and imagines it; Anya tells her to dance with a waiter, but Becky refuses, unaware that the waiter is actually a disguised Loid. Several heirs from prominent families approach Becky and try to invite her to dance with them. While she likes the attention, Becky rejects them as she states she is not interested in children, to which the boys point out that they are the same age.

When Anya gets invited to dance by a few boys, Becky notices Damian's reaction and teases that Anya will get stolen from him and that he should not have refused her invitation. After Damian interferes with Arnold Crowley's dance invitation to Anya, Becky tells the other boys that Anya has already invited him to dance. However, Emile says that Damian would never accept Anya's invitation, so the boys continue to pursue Anya. To everyone's surprise, Anya states that she only wants to dance with Damian, and Becky squeals at her forwardness. As more girls swarm Damian with dance invitations, Emile and Ewen decide to hold a challenge to determine who is worthy of being Damian's dance partner. Anya steps up to the challenge, and Becky cheers her on.[41]

Becky praises Anya during the "Clapping Scarecrow Endurance Battle"

Becky praises Anya's stability

Anya starts becoming dizzy from the many thoughts of her peers, but Becky tells her not to be intimidated. The first challenge is the "Clapping Scarecrow Endurance Battle," in which the girls must demonstrate a sufficient level of balance and rhythm by standing on one foot and clapping to a rhythm. Becky wishes good luck to Anya, who is approached by the disguised Loid to remove lint from her dress. Becky is impressed by the waiter's gentlemanliness and remarks on his looks as well. As the challenge begins, Becky watches many girls drop out, but is amazed that Anya is standing completely still. Becky praises Anya and admires her when she leans without losing her balance. With ten girls remaining by the end of the challenge, Anya passes and rushes to Becky to celebrate.

During the second challenge, an obstacle course, Becky comments on Anya's stubbornness as she pushes through the course. During the "inchworm crawl" phase, Becky is shocked when Anya unexpectedly speeds through, remarking that Anya secretly excels at weird movements. Anya places in the top three of the finishers and moves on to the next round. One girl complains about Anya's ungracefulness during the challenge, but Becky argues that Anya earned her victory fair and square. The final challenge is a quiz about Damian. Anya ultimately wins the challenge, and Becky congratulates her, after which she tells a grumbling Emile that the competition was his and Ewen's idea.

Becky worries about Anya seeing her pallor

As the dance begins, Becky stands outside the dance floor with Ewen and Emile to watch over Anya and Damian, who are quite stiff. Becky notices Anya going pale and asks if she is okay. The pair get into an argument and are told off by Henry, after which they begin dancing normally. However, they begin arguing once again, much to Becky's confusion. Despite that, Becky sees that it is still progress for the two of them and smiles.[42]

Love and War Arc[]

Becky's tearful reaction to Martha's story

Becky's tearful reaction to Martha's story

After the gala, the students take an end-of-term break. At the Blackbell Company, Martha tells Becky about her history with Henry, though she never discloses his identity. Becky is shocked that Martha never confessed her feelings to the man before he graduated, to which Martha explains that she did not realize or understand her feelings back then until he left Eden.[43] Martha recounts her experience in the first East-West war and the end of her adolescence upon returning home and learning that the man she loved married another woman. Upon learning of her butler's heartbreak, Becky has a crying fit and is unsatisfied with how things unfolded. Becky demands to know why Martha did not steal back Henry, but Martha explains that she and Henry's wife respected each other, and Martha recognized that Henry dearly loved his wife.

Martha advises Becky about the world

Martha teaches Becky about the world

Becky blames the war and the elites who wanted it for ruining Martha's dreams and love, but Martha teaches Becky that the world is not as simple as she thinks and that accepting its unknowns is as important as finding the truths. Martha reveals to Becky that she fought in the second East-West war too, and Becky is shocked that she went into another war despite barely surviving the last one. At the end of Martha's story, Becky demands to know who the mystery man is. Recalling that he is a teacher at Eden, Becky suspects it is Henry, but she is quickly shushed by Martha, who advises against prying, as everyone has things they wish to keep secret. Martha then leaves her confused mistress at home to run an errand.[44]

Current Arc[]

Becky with Martha and Wiesel

Anya sees Becky with Martha and Wiesel at the river

While the Eden students are on their holiday, a Nordic seal named Belle appears in Berlint's Eber River and makes it to the news. Like many others, Becky wishes to see the exotic creature, so Martha accompanies her with her pet dog, Wiesel. At the river, the group runs into the Forgers, and they exchange greetings. As Loid greets the ladies, Becky quickly squeals at the sight of him but, after hearing Martha's story, holds herself back from plotting to steal him away to be a "grown-up" like Martha, who reminds her to return the greeting. Becky spots a nearby newscaster and wants to go close to them to practice being on TV as a celebrity. However, she is disappointed when Anya turns her down, and Martha tells her mistress to give it up already.

When Belle does not appear, Becky grows annoyed and threatens to send a submarine after the seal, but Martha holds her back and dissuades her from warring with the animal. Becky gets bored and decides to go home, so the group bids goodbye to the Forgers before leaving.[45]
