Aaron (アーロン, Āron?) is one of the supporting characters of the SPY x FAMILY series. He is the pet of Sylvia Sherwood.
In the past, like Bond Forger, he was a victim of the cruel experiments of Project Apple and was later used as one of the bomb dogs for the Berlint University terrorist group, led by Keith Kepler, in their plot to assassinate Minister Brantz.
Appearance[]
Aaron is a large male German Shepherd. He has a domed forehead, a long square-cut muzzle with strong jaws, and a black nose. The eyes are medium-sized and yellow. The ears are large and stand erect, open at the front and parallel. Aaron's coat is tan and black, he has a typical black mask and black body marking in the form of a "saddle" on his back, characteristic of his breed.
Personality[]
Aaron is an easygoing dog. In the possession of Keith and his group, he was trained as an aggressive fighter as well as an effective tracker and bomb dog. He was brave enough to attack Loid Forger, who was shooting at him, and charged at him head-on. Despite that, he was genuinely scared by the angry Yor who defended Anya from him and Keith, and this was enough to escape from his then-owner.
A noticeable difference between Aaron's current friendly side and his former aggressive behavior
After being captured by WISE and subsequently adopted by Sylvia, Aaron became more friendly and playful. His great emotionality was also shown when he was shocked and offended that Sylvia did not clean their apartment, that Bond did not recognize him, and that Sylvia chose his name in a rather careless way.
Aaron, like Bond, is a mentally enhanced intelligent dog but does not forget everything as quickly as the latter.
Abilities and Skills[]
Aaron's time as a research experiment left him with above-average intelligence for a dog. He is capable of understanding human speech.
Sense of Smell: He is an excellent tracker who easily tracked down Anya, Bond, and even the smell of a target from far distances.

Basic Combat Training: Due to his past as a research subject for military purposes, Aaron might have already been trained in basic combat abilities.
Speed and Reactions: While chasing Loid, he was fast enough to catch up with him much quicker than Keith did in his car and later showed impressive agility when he dodged Loid's gunfire at medium range.

Sylvia Sherwood[]

Aaron and Sylvia are in a close, almost familial relationship. After she promised Anya to take care of other dogs after the foiled assassination attempt on the minister, she adopted Aaron and settled him in her apartment. The dog looks healthy and happy because Sylvia takes good care of him and sometimes even refuses to meet with colleagues at work to pay attention to him. However, sometimes Aaron has complaints about her, for example, when she brings their house to a mess or because of the fact that she did not choose his name too carefully. Also, they both appear to share a common passion for competition and rivalry when they were determined to defeat Loid and Bond together.
Loid Forger[]
Their relationship began hostile since Aaron perceived Loid as his enemy and target, whose scent he was trained to track. Even after Loid revealed that he was not the minister, Aaron continued his attack and bit on Loid's arm. Loid initially tried to shoot Aaron but later chose to save him by removing the bomb from him and simply closing him in a dumpster. After some time, under the influence of Sylvia, Aaron stopped being aggressive and, during his reunion with Loid, showed him friendliness, letting go of the past.
Bond Forger[]

Since Aaron and Bond were both fellow subjects of Project Apple, the two have been together for a long time.[1] During their stay with the terrorists, Aaron did not show aggression toward Bond until he treacherously escaped from them to save Anya. He began to regard him as an enemy and was ready to pounce on him on Keith's orders. Later, together with Sylvia, Aaron met Bond again at the dog park and seemed glad to see him, but almost started another fight after being upset at Bond's forgetfulness. He was also determined to beat Bond in their competition in the park, however, when their rival confrontation ended, he again forgot all grievances and continued to play with his newfound friend.
Anya Forger[]
In their first meeting, Aaron and Anya did not show much interest in each other because the girl liked Bond more, and he did not show any aggression towards her. However, on Keith's orders, he was ready to kill her without hesitation had he not been stopped and scared off by the terrifying Yor. After being taken in by Sylvia and reuniting with Anya at the dog park, Aaron showed his playful side and happily played with her and Bond.

- An extra page after Chapter 23 in the fourth volume features Aaron and reveals that he was taken in by a kindly WISE agent. Later, during a Q&A with Tatsuya Endo in the fanbook, he revealed that it was Sylvia who adopted him.[1] Their relationship is fully shown in Chapter 78.
